Mead was such a role model in all aspects. I'm grateful that he and my dad, Harold Lowrey, were good friends their whole life. This relationship led me to be great friends with all of the kids: Lisa, Tally Mead and Chris. When the Ferguson's would come to Oklahoma for their annual visit from London, it was always exciting and I got to host Lisa at school. As a high school senior, I was invited to London for 10 days. The whole Ferguson family was welcoming and loving to their young country bumpkin friend; I had a quite the experience. Mead would quiz us at the end of the day of sightseeing to reinforce what we had learned; this was new to me, but appreciated. As others have noted here, Mead was a man who had a lust for life. His laugh was unique & boisterous =) His singing in the church choir, and really his enthusiasm, will be missed greatly. His love and appreciation of all of his passions: The First Presbyterian Church of Woodward, his parents' home which he added on to and renovated when he and Mary moved back to Woodward, ranching, LEARNING, Native American history, Oklahoma & Kansas, tennis, the City of Woodward and many more - was wonderful! Bright blessings onto the Ferguson family! Love, ~jl
