Her Life

Wisconsin girl

November 17, 2014

Mom was born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1944.  She was the youngest of 5 siblings and her family soon moved to Washington state because of father, Donald O. Mills was a minister.  She loved attending Sammamish High School in Bellevue and told me that it was brand new when she was there.
She met and married my father, Craig Huet Hall and he was very devoted to her.  I know that he loved her very much and he and his family were a great blessing to my mom.  She loved her sister's in law, my Aunt Judy and my Aunt Linda very much.
My parents had three children and were quite young parents.  I remember mom running with me and we loved to do 10-ks on the weekends so I could participate in cross-country meets.  My dad enjoyed the outdoors and we spent a lot of time camping in Washington which was great fun for us.  We loved to visit our grandparents on both sides and enjoyed many family gatherings to see our many cousins.  We were so lucky to have such large extended families with so many people in them.  They were a great source of joy to my mother who loved all of her nephews and neices very much.
Mom was an excellent book keeper and a very organized person.  She enjoyed many jobs but she especailly enjoyed being a bank manager in Washington and working at the Mount Vernon Library.  She always loved to read and believed in the power of a good education.  She was thrilled that I became a teacher and she told me that she had always wanted to be one too.  We both shared our delight in children.
All of my mother's siblings were very precious to her and she loved them very much.  Her oldest sister, Nancy Caldwell lives in Pittsburg, Uncle Jon lives in Lake Havasu City Arizona, my Aunt Marian lives in Mt. Vernon, Washington.  Her oldest brother, my Uncle David passed away in 2001.
Mom was a very active person who loved the outdoors and she loved to meet new people and was a warm sweet lady.  I sure will miss having her in my life and I will cherish these memories of her.
