Mildred Olive Daniel, 91, a resident of 303 – 9th Street, Butner, North Carolina, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at her home.
A native of Johnston County, the widow of John S. Daniel and the daughterof the late Eli and Ila Johnson Olive. The last charter member of First Baptist Church in Butner, retired from John Umstead Hospital after 34 years of service, and a member of the Eastern Star for 61 years.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 10, 2010 in the First Baptist Church in Butner by Rev. Lenny Rogers. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Daniel Jones (Whitey) of Butner, a son-in-law, William Watkins of Creedmoor, a sister, Lena Olive Lee and a brother Charles Olive both of Smithfield, N.C., 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Elizabeth Watkins and a great granddaughter, Kelly Currin Morris, preceded her in death. A special thanks to her caregiver, Ann Cooke, for her many deeds of kindness.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Butner Building Fund, P.O. Box 44, Butner, North Carolina 27509.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2010 prior to the funeral service at the First Baptist Church in Butner and other times at the home.
