Mildred Glenn-Tarver was born on November 1, 1932 to Will and Maggie Glenn in the Perote Community. “Nig” as she was affectionately known, was the fifth of seven children.
  Mildred was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in the Indian Creek Community. 

In the 1940s, Mildred was united in holy matrimony to Henry James Tarver. From this union, seven children were born, six boys and one girl.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, husband and two children, her oldest son and only daughter. She was a devoted mother and dedicated grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
  She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Henry Tarver, Jr., Midway, AL, Johnnie M. (Priscilla) Tarver, Union Springs, AL, William (Maggie) Tarver, Midway, AL, Freddie Tarver, Haines City, FL and Albert Tarver, Midway, AL; two children she reared, Wiley McWhorter and Beverly Phelps; twenty-five grandchildren including a grandchild she reared, Kantashia Haynes; thirty great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
