EULOGY OF THE LATE MOSES GITAU KARIUKI (MOSEE) ( 1992 -2021 )

BIRTH
Moses Gitau Kariuki commonly known as *Mosee* was born on 7th May 1992 at Gulmag Estate Sasini ,Kiambu Constituency in Kiambu County . His parents are Francis Kariuki and Agnes Wangui , in law to Thomas Linguli and Beatrice Karimi . He was brother to Mary Ngoiri, Jane Wambui, the late Michael Mwangi , Hannah Wangari , Peter Mwai , John Mwangi andMathew Maina . He was an uncle to Agnes Wangui, John Kariuki and Pauline Wangui, Alvin Maina andAnthony Maina and a grandfather to Joan Wambui and Anthony Kariuki.
EDUCATION
The late Moses Gitau Kariuki started schooling from 1999 at Kiu River primary school , before being transferred to Kongo primary and Corner Stone academy Dagoreti respectively. He then joined Brother Beausang Catholic Education secondary school where he studied for 2 years form 1 &2 and in the year 2010 the late joined Riabai Secondary School in Kiambu where he did his final (KCSE) exam from.
WORK
The late Moses Gitau Kariuki ventured into business immediately after his secondary school education in Ngong town Kajiado County , later he got employed at Regina Pacis Foods Company and after working for some time there , he bought a motorbike with aid from his brother Mathew Maina and started bodaboda business , a venture that really connected him to so many people and formedthe pillar of his revenue source. Before his demise , he had started a small multipurpose shop which was managedby his wife as he fine-tuned his future dreams.
MARRIAGE
On 15/12/2018, the late married his beloved wife Purity Kaari through a church wedding that attracted hundreds of people and the couple were blessed with a baby boy Samuel Kariuki on 1/8/2019.
Moses has been a pillar to his family and every day he could wake up early morning with his bike to provide for his family no matter the situation.
CHURCH
The late Moses Gitau Kariuki was baptised on 18/5/1993. He got first Holy communion on 10th June, 2007 and the confirmed on 13th Dec, 2018 was a staunch follower of The Catholic faith at Holy Family Mugumo Catholic Church, an out station to Tingángá Parish where he has been serving in different sectors pertaining faith. Before his death , the late was an active member for the Catholic Men Association (CMA) and an active chorister at the church Choir, further to that he was a the Pontifical Missionary Childhood(PMC) lead teacher at the out-station.
The late was an active church member and Moderator of ST. KIZITO small Christian community (Jumuia).
The late participated in various church activities and was in the front line in spreading the gospel in the simplest way he can.
AWARDS
The late had numerous awards from the music industry and his participation in a folk song for the Holy Family Mugumo Choir Festivals lead to a massive victory. Singing and composing his own music was his long time dreams and everytime, he would compose a number of songs in a simple booklet, this was his next dream in the industry. He has since been awarded for being an innovative Catholic children’s music composer for PMC.
DEMISE
On the 7th May 2021 at around 3PM , Moses was mistakenly involved in a shot out at the entrance to Holy Family Mugumo Church off Kiambu - Ruiru road, where he went to rescue a church member who and a colleague who were being carjacked by robbers and on alighting at the scene of crime, the late was shot at the stomach through his left hand. He was admitted at Kiambu district Hospital between 7th -10th of May, 2021, on Monday morning 10th the late complained of a severe pain in his body and in that early morning he was pronounced dead. Moses has died at the age of twenty nine years (29). He left behind his wife Purity Kaari and a son Samuel Kariuki.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen
