Bernice McCoy Moss was born July 15, 1928 to the late David and Iola Hill McCoy in Chambers County, Alabama.  She joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Lanett, Alabama at an early age.   Bernice was united in holy matrimony to the late Frank Moss.

Mrs. Moss  was the operator of an in-home daycare center for many years.  She also worked as a private duty adult care sitter for many residents of the Greater Valley area. She was an avid traveler, loved to walk and enjoyed communicating with people.

She was predeceased by her siblings; Mattie Brooks, Melvin McCoy, Sr. and Doris Bonner.

On Thursday, June 21, 2012, Mrs. Bernice M. Moss departed this life at Golden Living Center in Lanett, Alabama.

Her survivors include:  grandsons, Craig (Rhoeina) Stanford, Ft. Campbell, KY, LaGerald Bonner and A’Maurie D. Zachery (whom she called her Sugar Boy) both of Lanett, AL; nieces, Deborah Johnson and Mary (Nathaniel) Reese both of Lanett, AL; nephews, Melvin McCoy (Lisa), Lanett, AL, Zachary (Wydell) McCoy, Atlanta, GA and Tommy McCoy, Fayetteville, NC; great nieces, Ashley Bonner and Shamilya Dawson both of Lanett, AL; special cousins, Hannah Boyd, Rosie Patten and Adeline Matthews all of Lanett, AL and Gertie Lee Potts, Valley, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ruby Todd, LaFayette, AL and Walter Hughley, Lanett, AL.
