Mrs. Barbara Jean Jones was born July 20, 1934, to Doris Glenn and James Simpson of Lavonia, Georgia.She departed this life on January 23, 2022 due to a sudden death.She is preceded in death by her late husband, James Jones, to whom she was married for nineteen years.They shared together many fun and special memories.

Barbara Jones came to Cincinnati, Ohio in June of 1960.She was baptized on November 8, 1964 and attended St. Luke Primitive Baptist Church.She was a very devoted member and served at the church for fifty years.Barbara Jones was very determined to make a life for herself and had many jobs.She was a Seamstress, Payroll Clerk, Store Clerk and Dry Cleaner worker.As a wife, she had no children of her own, but shared her love with all the children who came her way.She was determined to get her GED and at the age of seventy, she received her certificate from the Over-The-Rhine Adult Education Center.She completed many years of hard work……”Good job Auntie!”

She leaves to mourn her loss; God Son Lucious Galashaw (Denise); God Daughter, Meshell Clark; nieces, Rosetta, Jeanette, Tonietta Pierce-Hughes; nephews, Victor Horton; cousins, Sammie Bradley, Evelyn Geter, the Rice family, the Simpson family, the Pierce family and the Glenn family; granddaughters, Mary McDonald, Sweet Pea, Stephanie Hamilton, Latonya White, Shanna White, Angela Davis and Marlon White; she leaves the Smith family; her beloved church members, who she shared many fun memories; lastly, she leaves her dear neighbors, who checked on her and made sure she had carryout food…Charles, John, Larry, Mrs. Jamie and Mrs. Jones.Barbara further leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
