I had the delight to know Nancy from the perspective of a child, and later as an adult. As a child entering her home, I felt her immediate acceptance and support. Nancy understood the privacy children need to play and laugh together in creative worlds no longer inhabited by adults, and respected that boundary. Meeting her as an adult, I was again welcomed and supported by an older version of the same slight, graceful beauty with the twinkle in her eye. I realized immediately that one of Nancy's many great gifts was that she had always known how to travel between those worlds, and delighted in doing so with her grandchildren. I am so thankful to have known her. To know her really was to love her.
