Mom would have been 79 today. I know she's looking down now and I can imagine the advice she would be giving us ... I'm sure it would be right lol.
She wasn't only my mom, but one of the best friends anyone could have.

Happy Birthday Ma.

Happy Birthday Mom. This is the second birthday without you and I miss you and think about you everyday. It's been a strange and difficult year, but we've made it through. You would be proud.

Today is Aunt Nancy's birthday. She would have been 78. As I think of her all the memories run through my mind in an instant. She was "good people". A bright spot in my life. Yes I remember.

Thinking of Nancy today. We became good friends with the passage of time.

As of today one year has passed since Aunt Nancy left us. Yes she is gone but she is still a part of my life. Always was. Always will be. One of the five pictures that Grady posted here (click on 'gallery' at the top of this page) shows Aunt Nancy when she was about ten playing with a couple of toddlers.
The toddlers are Gail and me.
My sympathy and love goes out to Grady and his family and to Aunt Nancy's extended family (my Mother, Bobbie, was one of Nancy's older sisters).
I remember Nancy. I remember the smiles and happiness she brought so naturally into my world.

I got to know Aunt Nancy better than my other Aunt's because she was still
living at home going to school when I was growing up. Every year my family visited Pop and Mom (my grandparents, Nancy's parents). Nancy and I became friends. We always had fun together during those visits. She treated me as her equal and not as a little boy eight years younger than she was. Yes we were Aunt and Nephew but we remained friends the rest of her life.
She was wonderful. Now that she is gone I miss her and always will.
To Grady: I am very sorry for your loss. Sending love to you and yours.

Yesterday was your Birthday and I didn’t realize how much your absence was going to effect me. I spent the day reminiscing about all the good times we had, and how great and special of a mother and grandmother you were. You’re gone now, but it gives me a sense of contentment that you will live on in our memories and through the people we are because of you.
