I first meant Nancy when Kim Berge and I, recent college graduates, moved from Colorado Springs to Denver to further our careers. Nancy and Bill not only welcomed Kim and me into their home, they stockpiled a U-Haul load of our belongings in their basement until we settled into our own housing and respective jobs. For several weeks we all cooked, played and even cleaned and gardened together in the Berge family home. Nancy's generosity, dry humor, wisdom and patience! for two young adults at loose ends are unforgettable. During every rendezvous since, she exuded the same warmth and sparkle in the eye. May we all learn from Nancy's knack for living in the moment, overlooking inconvenience, and finding levity in moments inopportune.
