Her Life
February 6, 2013

Our Dear Mother who we adored, Nancy Jo (Merritt) Ross, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 31, 2012 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Born January 28, 1941 in Miami, Fl, she was the daughter of the late
Robert Merritt and Blanche Redwine and was raised by the late Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Seidler who loved her dearly and she was forever grateful to for taking her into their home.

Nancy was a graduate of Miami Beach High School, Miami Dade Community
College and Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and she
later went on to earn a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies.

In addition to living in Miami, Nancy also resided in the mountains of
North Carolina then spent her later years in Pittsburgh, PA.

While raising her children in Miami, Nancy became a pioneering member of
Life Lab at Miami Dade Community College.  In addition to loving her
profession, she particularly cherished the opportunity to know, serve and enrich thelives of her countless students, many who continue to hold a special
place for her in their heart.

Nancy was a beloved and dedicated mother and grandmother and she is missed so much by her daughter Melissa Ross of Miami, son David Ross and
daughter-in-law, Adria Eliassen of Fort Lauderdale, son Seth Ross and
his wife, Dana of Pittsburgh, PA, and sister Barbara Greenfield of
Hollywood, FL.  Nancy also loved with all her heart her five beautiful
grandchildren, Ciera, Shane, Shilo, Lea, and Zachary. They were a source of tremendous pride and joy.

All who knew Nancy would agree she was truly an extraordinary human
being. Among her many wonderful traits, we especially remember her infinite
selflessness, desire to serve, timely wisdom, abounding kindness,
gracious nature and loving spirit, all of which continue to inspire and
live on in those she loved, knew and touched.  Nancy will always be
missed, and her life will be forever celebrated.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to American Cancer
Society or the charity of your choice.
