Little Sister

September 26, 2014

Nancy and I were 2 years apart, we walked to school together in Northlake ,Ill ( Chicago area) I remember picking up worms from puddles to scare her and even though she would scream she wasn't afraid she was just having fun in the moment. You see Nancy knew how to have fun and live life to its fullest, it was a gift along with all her other gifts. A truck driver at my workplace mentioned how when she was at a fast food restaurant and started talking to the person just sweeping the floor it was as though she had known them for years. Nancy truly cared about people and her life was an example of how we all should live to bring love and joy into the world. Nancy stories will come to us all in the months and years to come, but the good news for me is that along with her I share a faith in Jesus and plan to sometime in the future meet up with her again and enjoy that larger than life personality. One thing I do know is that she won't be sitting on a boring cloud playing a harp!

I will miss my friend <3

September 16, 2014

I will miss laughing 'til we cry. I will miss Nancy's solid advise "The only way through a problem, is through a problem!" I will miss her courage and strength. I will miss synchronized swimming in the pool. I will miss religious conversation where we could agree to disagree. I will miss impromptu dinners and breakfast dates. I will miss how Nancy had the gift to engage everyone around her, no one was a stranger to Nancy. There are just so many wonderful memories of Nancy: sending a pizza to the hospital in LA when my daughter had surgery, hysterical New Years Eve parties, the amazing times we had during the Rose Parade weekend, when Nancy convinced three male Korean massage therapists to sing happy birthday to us (Sue La Liberty, Nancy, and myself) eventhough they did not speak English, again hysterical!! I will miss her beautiful cakes, her sense of humor, her smile, her laugh, her honesty and incredible insight about life and human nature, her kindness and generosity, while still saving money, but most of all I will miss my friend...l love you Nancy always and forever <3 Lori Jo

I miss you already

September 16, 2014

There are no words to describe this feeling right now. You were my hero , my rock, my grandma , and the most amazing women in the world you always had a smile on your face even after cemo ! I have so many amazing memories with you that I will always remember! You were the kindest person I've ever met You always knew how to give to others and share everything you had you cared so much for your family you kept the peace and you kept us all together with you craziness !!! I'm going to miss you jokes, your dancing, your seat drops on the trampoline , and when you got so happy that you would laugh so hard that you would pee your pants. I miss you soooo much it feels like the true you has been gone for a while now. But last night I realized that I had to stop being selfish and tell you that it's ok for you to go, you have done your job better than anyone could ask you to !! You don't have to suffer anymore! Nothing was left un said and not many people can say that. I know you will watch over me

An Angel touched my heart

September 13, 2014

I met Nancy through a mutual friend, Lori Beck. The few but cherished encounters we had were always memorable and filled with giddy, unchecked laughter, especially initiated by Nancy. I am so grateful for my last adventure with her and Lori to Pasadena where we watched the Rose Bowl Parade from atop a parking garage and then at street level. We found an excellent hole-in the-wall Thai restaurant and had a scary but hilarious adventure in a "foot massage" dungeon where Nancy was teaching some non-english speaking Asians how to sing Happy Birthday and the ABC song. Our trip ended short of Lori's house where both Nancy and I had to exit the car because we were going to pee our pants from laughing. If I remember, our trip started the same way with Nancy laughing so hard on New Year's eve that she had to change her clothes. These memories I will hold on to and love forever. Nancy has touched my heart like no other person has in a long time! I love you Nancy and I will look for signs of you in my spirit.

Meeting Nancy

September 12, 2014

I met Nancy when I was 5, in kindergarten. Her daughter, Nicole & I didn't hit it off so great at first, giving each other that five year old competitive glare. Then one day I saw this young vibrant mom drive up to our school in a tiny two door car., Nancy's version of a smart car, able to carry the entire neighborhood! Piles of kids, what seemed like maybe 15, popped out of the car, smiling, shouting, laughing! Who was this mom? I wanted to know this Lady, she was so cool! Those kids were experiencing Nancy's endless adventure, and I was bound to join the excitement! So now I had to smile at Nicole, I had to become her friend if I wanted to meet Nancy! Lucky for me, Nicole & I actually became inseparable best friends! Along with my friendship came a 2nd Mom, teaching me laughter, adventure, & spirituality! I rode in her lil cars, listened to her advice, & loved her dearly! I'm forever blessed for knowing Nancy! Her courage, strength, devotion, and smile are forever imprinted on my heart! I will never forget her red socks, little cars filled with rubber bands, her Chinese fire drills, that Lady with exploding & contagious energy !
