To a very special person (Nanette) I think of you every March on your birthday. We always shared special moments about our birth month. God brought us together in a speclal way. We spoke ofter about our pets and how we changed and our life changed. It was sad to see you leave us much too soon. I miss you and think of you often. You're with God and you're one of his Angels.

Oh dear, I just found out about Nanette when I ran into her mom with April at Moscone. Nanette was a GREAT person. I remember in 2003 when a neighbor Betty White was killed by a Muni bus and her dog Hobie went to the pound, Nanette was one of the people who generously donated to help Hobie have a new life. I was always happy to see Nanette. I will light a candle at St. Vincent de Paul.

Hi Netter;
Today I have been thinking about you, missing you so much. My birthday is coming and I will go to Dim Sum and then to Columbarium to see you. Lynette did a beautiful job for the service, April sat right next to your mom.

I always looked forward to seeing your friendly, shining face at family functions. You always made me feel welcome from the start. Just isn't fair that this happened to deserved much better. We think of you often. God bless you.

Been thinking a lot about you as I pass your place everyday. LA, Tahoe, teaching you to play cards with sunflower seeds, drinks, movies, hanging out at the Marina all night long, snake in the weeds, on and on. We had such good times together. Miss you forever!!
Posted by Stan Berkowitz on August 16, 2011
The good go young. I will miss your shining face in the hallway, at the front door, outside the gate; the brief moments that I had the pleasure of knowing you just as neighbors passing in a hall.

Rest in Peace

Nanette, I will miss you very much. For so many years you were one of my best friends, then we had a stupid fight and both of us being stubborn, a good friendship ended. I never stopped caring about you. Thank you for the great times we shared. I can still here your laugh.

We have a dog name Chance if you have seen the movie "Marley and Me" this is our dog.  Except ours was 105lbs at his peak.  Chance just celebrated his 14th birthday in June.  The dog book said life expectancy was 10 to 12 years I counted them down. Netter loved this dog.  She often was telling me to "be nice to him" and she would send me home with treats for this dog I have not been fond of but my husband and kids love so much.  I told her what what I had done one night about 4 months ago.  My family was sitting at the table having dinner and Chance would not quit bugging me, panting, drooling and bugging me for a bite, not anyone else, just me.  I kept saying to my husband why is he bugging me and not you or the girls?  Marty said he loves you and he is not going to die until you are really nice to him and tell him you love him.  So that whole evening he would go by and I would pet him, tell him he was a great dog and tell him that I loved him.  All this to the delight of my girls.  It was another funny evening at our house.  The next morning my husband and I came down stairs to check on him and let him out.  He pops up all excited and heads on out, I looked and my husband I said so much for that working, we laughed and went on about the day.  I called Netter that night and told her what I had done and how he was still here frolicking about like a 5 year old dog at 14.  She says to me "well he woke up and said, wow I must have been dreaming!"  PRICELESS   Marty the girls and I still laugh at that come back and she is right he must have been dreaming.  My kids now tell me Nanette is watching so "be nice".  I am Netter and I admit despite all the work and distruction he is a good dog and extremely kind and gentle.

I'm Free

"Don't Grieve for me, for now I'm free/I'm following the path God laid for me/I took His hand when I heard Him call/ I turned my back and left it all.

"I could not stay another day/To laugh, to love, to work or play/Tasks left undone must stay that way/I found that place at the close of day.

"If my parting has left a void/Then fill it with remembered joy/A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss/Ah yes, these things I too, will miss.

"Be not burdened with times of sorrow/ I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow/My life's been full I savored much/Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

"Perhaps my time seemed all too brief/Don't lengthen it now with undue grief/lift up your heart and share with me/God wanted me now, He set me free"

This was one of my favorite poems that I read at my fathers funeral, I didn't know Nanette that well, but have known of her for a long time through a mutual friend Jennifer Keith.  I'm so sorry to hear of her loss for family and friends.  She was a beautiful person.
