Dear Beverly,

Richard and I are so sorry for your loss. God knows your feelings and what you are going through. God in His infinite mercy and goodness promises to be our comforter and Savior at all times. In the days to come, May the God of hope fill you with His joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of His Holy Spirit.

As Christians, Holy Scripture teaches us in Job 1:21 that "The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised."

One of the great things about following the Lord Jesus Christ is the fact that He is always with us…every hour and every day. He knows your struggles, pain and sorrows. He also gives us His peace, peace that surpasses all understanding. He will give you peace.

2Timothy4:7-8 states "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." Neville, has fought the good fight and has finished his course. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

May Neville’s soul rest in perfect peace.

I would like to extend sincere condolences to dear Bev and the Allen family for the loss of a dear husband, brother, uncle, friend, etc. That the Lord will give strength to endure this loss. Dear Neville’s passing brought up so many wonderful memories of being in ministry with him and others back home in Jamaica. We as young people back then were on the Youth Choir. He and many of the other young men sang Bass. I recall some of the others as Victor, Newton, Orvin, Robert, Ken, Helen, Erica, Elaine, Delores, Pearl, Merdelyn, etc. directed by Lucille Christian-Bennett. It was awesome as we practiced and sang at Church during the Worship Service OR visit other Churches like Race Course SDA and others.
I have always interceded with God for Neville, especially when things took a turn for the worse, that the Holy Spirit would bring back to his mind all those wonderful songs, with the awesome messages, we used to sing together: (Examples: “My Anchor Holds!”: “Open Mine Eyes That I May See!”: and many others!

May the Lord keep us faithful until He comes when we can see dear Neville again and sing songs of praises together again!! Only a little while longer.... Amen

I am saddened to learn of the death of Neville. I met Neville here in Maryland through his wife Beverly and we immediately became friends, bonded by our common faith and profession. When Neville left for Florida, I was honored to take him to the BWI Airport. David and I promise both Beverly and Neville that we would come to Florida to see them in their new home. The last time we spoke with Neville he was still enthused about us connecting with him again. However, the pandemic postponed our plans. To all the family I express my deepest sympathy, Beverly has demonstrated in a comprehensive manner, the theory and practice of genuine christian love and commitment to Neville, and as Neville rest and wait for His lord, may Beverly rest in God’s love and promises and enjoy physical rest too.

Bev and family,
May you experience God's peace and comfort. May the promise of the resurrection and life eternal, and all the memories shared sustain you through this loss.
Though I may not the only one Neville may have called " My friend" It really sounded special as he greeted me on a phone call or in a visit. You can't help but admire his ability to dream and have visions even when it seemed impossible because he was physically limited. His laughter was contagious! He and Bev modeled consistently the importance of family worship and being in God's will.
Looking forward to the 'great getting up morning'.
Peace and love!

Dear Bev,

Edward and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Neville, your dear husband. I knew Neville from years ago when he was a teenager in May Pen. We met up again a couple years ago in Apopka, Florida. You both lived a short distance from us. Even though Neville was ill, he had such a good memory recall for Eddie and myself, also for my siblings Doriene, late Pam and Frank, who were also from his May Pen days.

You were such a devoted and caring wife. We know this is a difficult time for you, but we pray that God will support you with His love and give you the strength you need at this time.

Put your trust in Him. We look forward to the resurrection morning!

Much love,

Edward and Faye Reid

Dear Bev,
It is with great sadness that I express deepest regrets on the passing of your husband and my friend, Neville. I express this on behalf of my immediate family as well as my mother and the rest of the McIntyre siblings.
My earliest recollection of Neville would be perhaps 1952/53, in Sabbath School, taught by a tandem of ladies namely: Sis. Allen (his mother, Miss Chris (Christian), and Miss Del Williams.
Growing up together was quite a challenge with Neville setting the pace for an experience of excellence in school. He worked very hard for perfection in his work and we all tried to model him. He was very competitive and it was an irritation for him when he was bested at anything, like art, making of model cars, or toys. We made and flew kites together with Orvin, his brother, and experienced lots of boyhood fun. One thing that has somewhat linked us was the fact that we shared birthdays just one day apart. He the 7th of January and I the 8th. So for that we have always exchanged greetings.
In life we find ourselves sometimes operating in different orbits. But the good thing is that orbits sometimes cross paths. In recent years we reconnected and spoke quite regularly. Had times to reminisce and laugh about events, recollecting names and situations, as well as share philosophies.
His passing leaves a void, and his intellectual acumen and other landmark accomplishments will be monuments of a special person who passed through; Dr. Neville Foster Allen.
So on behalf of the McIntyres, we wish you God’s peace and gracious comfort.
Donald, Angela and Donalea.
Hyacinth, Robert, Helen, Kenneth, Judith, and Georgia.

Dear Bev:
I am so, so saddened by the passing of Neville and my four sisters join me in sending you our deepest sympathy. You have certainly been a tower of strength in the care you gave Neville during his illness. I pray our Good Lord continue to bestow His blessings upon you and may He protect and keep you in His care.
It was 1954 when my family moved to May Pen and we later met Neville and his family at the May Pen Seventh Day Adventist church. We were young children then and went on to enjoy some of the most cherished fellowships over the years we attended our church and church school. As I write these words, I pleasantly recall hearing Neville singing base in our young people's choir. Neville was the epitome of excellence and brilliance in all his tasks. May he now rest in eternal peace.
Bev, I am only a phone call away and although at this time no words can ease the loss you bear, please know you are in my heart and prayer.
Lovingly,
Erica

I first met Neville in 1956. We were classmates in the May Pen Adventist school, under the tutelages of Mrs. Palmer. We went to different high schools but were together just about every Sabbath. Saturday nights were the times that we enjoyed Aunt Ellen's ginger beer, usually the center piece of our social activities.
We were together again at Andrews University and again at the University of Michigan. Needless to say, over the years our friendship deepened. As a matter of fact, he took me to get my driver's licence at Benton Harbor.
Neville was a loyal friend. Very dedicated to his principles, he exemplified the notion that "no deviation from strict integrity can meet God's approval"
Any tribute to Neville would be amiss if it did not include the loyalty and service of his wife during the years of his illness.
Now he sleeps in peace .We warm our hearts knowing that even at times when the sun sets beyond the mountains, we are still warmed by its rays in the heavens. In just a little while, there will be "a bright and glorious morning."

So very sorry to get the sad news. I am glad I spent the time with you and Neville. It was brief but had a lasting impact on me. May God help you through this difficult time and may his memory bring peace and joy to you always just know I am just a phone call away.. Warm regards and much love.

I remember Nev. in the May Pen church when the May Pen SDA school was transformed into church every Sabbath. Nev. was big and we were little, we used to look up to him, he was so noble, as little ones we had so much respect for him. I used to think of him as Daniel. He is missed. Dear Bev Allen Madam,

It's very sad to know the dismiss of your loved husband, I think you might have struggled hard in taking care of him when he was bedridden with illness. I think it's a painful and sorrowful movement for you and family now . I pray that the Lord shall comfort you with all the heavenly hope. I think together as a family you both had done great and extraordinary service to Indians in helping us morally and financially. We will forever remember you both for your wonderful service.

We miss Naville sir, on this earth forever. May his soul rest in peace until the day of the morning when the trumpet of the lord shall sound and time shall be no more. And the morning breaks eternal bright and fair. When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore.

Once again may our Lord Jesus grant you comfort and new hope at this time of sadness, This is my prayer.

In times like these you need a Savior, in times like these you need an anchor;
Be very sure, Your anchor holds and grip the solid Rock, Jesus.
Bev, you are not alone in this time of grief and sorrow, the Holy Spirit the Comforter is with you to soothe your pain and to heal your broken heart. It won't be long soon Jesus will come and call all those who are sleeping in Him to be awaken to the gift of life eternal. The promise is true the promise is real. "...Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your GOD is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 NKJV

Dear Bev,

I am deeply saddened for learning from you Nevil's passing today. I worked with Nevil so many years and I can say that I am impressed not only with his professional qualifications, but also for his kindness, and articulately expressing himself. I really enjoyed for talking with him on many subjects including human history as well. English is not my native language and I benefited from his writing stiles and learned from him new words. As you know, during past years I talked to him several times by phone and again we talked about many subjects including mutual friends, history, and others. Again, I and my family offer you and Nevil's siblings our condolences.

Best regards,

It's the middle of April again, and how quickly the 19th came and went - 3 years since Nev's passing and the memories are still quite fresh. It's a wonderful feeling to have no regrets, even with the passing of time, of the services and care provided during his six years of illness. And so three years later, I am very grateful that I did the best I could for him, during the most difficult period of my life. And 'Thank You" Heavenly Father, for the blessings You provided". And I thank all those who supported me in this effort. Yes, Nev is missed, but not forgotten.

His Life

A Giant Oak has Fallen

August 9, 2021
Sunday, January 7, 1945 was an exciting day in the Allen home in May Pen, Jamaica, as Vincent and Winifred welcomed their first child, Neville Foster, affectionately, called Nev.  His early years were spent at the May Pen SDA School and he often spoke of the fond memories of those years, and the lasting impact of teachers, Mmes. Butler, Palmer and Vaz.

By 1959, he enrolled at Kingsway High Schol in St. Andrew, Jamaica, from which he successfully completed the GCE examinations, obtaining a scholarship to continue his education at Ardenne High School.  He excelled at Ardenne, ending up as Head Boy in 1963-64.

After earning enough money to start college, he enrolled in the Pre-Engineering Program at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, in January, 1967.  He transferred to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in January 1970, graduating with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in December 1977.  His research examined the behavior of soils under varying conditions of pressure and exposure to water.

Neville began his career in early 1978 in Pittsburgh PA, at D'Appolonia Consulting Engineers, which later became International Technologies Corporation.  He worked on a number of projects in the U.S. and Belgium.  Later, he worked as Director of Quality Assurance with Canonie Engineers, as a Consultant with the World Bank, and with the U.S. Army.

In August 2015, Neville suffered a second stroke that left him paralyzed on the left side, from which he never recovered. Despite his disability, he enjoyed reflecting on the creative power and amazing grace of God, watching programs on 3 ABN.org, Hope TV.org, and Amazing Discoveries.org.  After a medical procedure on Apri 15, 2021, from which he never fully recovered, and with the years of declining health, Neville passed away peacefully on Monday evening, April 19, 2021.

Neville fought a good fight medically, professionally, and spiritually.  He fell asleep in the certainty of God's mercies toward him, having lived by the principles of God's kingdom out of sheer gratitude.

Rest my Dear, until Jesus returns and takes you Home.

Dear Bev,

We are sadden to hear of Neville’s death.  Please accept our condolences. We ask the Lord to strengthen you daily, and for you to hold onto the Precious memories you both shared.

We always remember that unforgettable Vesper Evening a group of us  shared with you both in Maryland.

You played the Piano, and Neville with his beautiful Bass voice lead our group with some of the old favourites.

One of Neville’s  favourite song that evening was “IN HEAVENLY LOVE ABIDING”

Green pastures are before us, which yet we have  not seen. Bright skies will soon be o’re us, where darkest clouds have been. Our hope we cannot measure, our path to life is free. Our Savior has our treasure, and He will walk with us.

Our prayers of comfort are with you and your family

Dear Bev please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear husband Neville. May Our Heavenly Father continue to give you and your family peace and comfort in this very difficult time.
I have mvery fond memories of Neville when we attended Andrews University in the late 1960’s.
He was a very committed Christian youth who supported all the activities that involved the Caribbean students on the campus in those times.
We look forward to seeing him again in the earth made new. Sweet be his rest until Jesus Christ comes again to take his faithful home.
