Dear Bev,
I offer you and family my sincere condolences at this time of grief. Neville was very thoughtful and kind to my mother and me during college days. I will remember him as a young man always ready to be helpful to all he knew. He was a rare gentleman.

Dear Bev:
My husband and I are very sad to hear this news. I remember getting to know both of you at the WB. We have had some good time. Knowing the times we are living in, we certainly don't have to wait that long to see him again. May that give you strength and hope. You took good care of him. May God comfort you.

Hi aunty Beverly, sorry for your loss. I know that it's not easy to loose loved ones, but, 1 Corinthians 10:13, say, No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
Remember, this too shall pass. Love always. From all of us.

Bev, I remember from Day 1, I had the joy of participating with Pastor Hyatt, your dad along with Pastor Dick Barron in your wedding on that delightful Sunday afternoon. What a journey it has been! Lady Vie and I always found joy and admiration in your commitment to each other. You have been a tower of strength to Nev in sickness and in health. The journey had now come to a transition, as you are no more together . We look forward with hope to the first resurrection, when there will be no parting. May God give you grace to carry on to the end. Vie, Dane, Kay and Karla join me in expressing our deepest condolelece. Be of good cheer. God is on your side.

PARTINGS

Partings, dear one, shall soon be o'er;
For, very soon, and Christ shall come!
Suff'ring and death shall be no more,
There in His bright eternal home -
There in His bright eternal home.

Partings, dear one, shall soon be o'er;
Then seas there shall no longer be!
God's hand shall wipe away each tear,
His presence make all heartaches flee -
His presence make all heartaches flee.

Partings, dear one, shall soon be o'er,
When: faith becomes our glorious sight;
We see our LORD whom we adore;
And joyful board our final flight -
And joyful board our final flight.

Partings, dear one, shall soon be o'er;
Within a yearning heart let's hum
Of being with Christ forevermore....
Oh! Even so, Lord Jesus, Come -
Oh! Even so, Lord Jesus, Come!

Dear Bev,

PTL for the lovely job done in providing this site and the beautiful memories that it stirs.

Thank God for all of those precious memories cherished by all who met and knew the person that God blessed Nev to be; for the marriage with which He blessed you and Nev; as well as for the lives He touched and inspired by you both.

Though Nev is now resting, thank God for continuing to bless us with your presence, love and friendship, as we all embrace the blessed hope of that promised glad reunion when Christ returns shortly. Surely, it won't be long until morning!

Till then, by God's grace our prayer is for His comfort, healing and peace to always attend you and all loved ones who mourn Nev's death:
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you."
Because:
"He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds."
May this blessing be your cconstant reality until the resurrection morning.

Hugs,
Dahana

Dear Bevey,

Going down memory lane, we met at 16 and were roommates at WIC during our first year. Years passed and we met again when you and Nev were dating. The love you both had was shared with the world on your wedding day.

My heart cries that Nev is suddenly no longer with us. Nev was kind, caring and always had words of encouragements to others. I loved Nev.

God gave you inner strength and you lovingly cared for "your man".

Imagine that the Words of this song are Nev's words to you. "Don't cry for me, Don't shed a tear, the time I shared with you will always be. And, when I'm gone, please carry on."

Nuff island luv and virtual hugs my friend

Waking up one morning to a changed life resulting from a failing body and the ensuing suffering and frustration can only be climaxed by the promise of the Resurrection Morn, waking up to the Savior's Call. Until then, my friend, rest in peace.

It's the middle of April again, and how quickly the 19th came and went - 3 years since Nev's passing and the memories are still quite fresh. It's a wonderful feeling to have no regrets, even with the passing of time, of the services and care provided during his six years of illness. And so three years later, I am very grateful that I did the best I could for him, during the most difficult period of my life. And 'Thank You" Heavenly Father, for the blessings You provided". And I thank all those who supported me in this effort. Yes, Nev is missed, but not forgotten.

His Life

A Giant Oak has Fallen

August 9, 2021
Sunday, January 7, 1945 was an exciting day in the Allen home in May Pen, Jamaica, as Vincent and Winifred welcomed their first child, Neville Foster, affectionately, called Nev.  His early years were spent at the May Pen SDA School and he often spoke of the fond memories of those years, and the lasting impact of teachers, Mmes. Butler, Palmer and Vaz.

By 1959, he enrolled at Kingsway High Schol in St. Andrew, Jamaica, from which he successfully completed the GCE examinations, obtaining a scholarship to continue his education at Ardenne High School.  He excelled at Ardenne, ending up as Head Boy in 1963-64.

After earning enough money to start college, he enrolled in the Pre-Engineering Program at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, in January, 1967.  He transferred to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in January 1970, graduating with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in December 1977.  His research examined the behavior of soils under varying conditions of pressure and exposure to water.

Neville began his career in early 1978 in Pittsburgh PA, at D'Appolonia Consulting Engineers, which later became International Technologies Corporation.  He worked on a number of projects in the U.S. and Belgium.  Later, he worked as Director of Quality Assurance with Canonie Engineers, as a Consultant with the World Bank, and with the U.S. Army.

In August 2015, Neville suffered a second stroke that left him paralyzed on the left side, from which he never recovered. Despite his disability, he enjoyed reflecting on the creative power and amazing grace of God, watching programs on 3 ABN.org, Hope TV.org, and Amazing Discoveries.org.  After a medical procedure on Apri 15, 2021, from which he never fully recovered, and with the years of declining health, Neville passed away peacefully on Monday evening, April 19, 2021.

Neville fought a good fight medically, professionally, and spiritually.  He fell asleep in the certainty of God's mercies toward him, having lived by the principles of God's kingdom out of sheer gratitude.

Rest my Dear, until Jesus returns and takes you Home.

Dear Beverly:
My family joins me in conveying sincere condolences on the demise of Neville.  He was such a fine Christian gentleman. May God comfort and sustain you during your adjustment to his loss. Dear Bev,

We are sadden to hear of Neville’s death.  Please accept our condolences. We ask the Lord to strengthen you daily, and for you to hold onto the Precious memories you both shared.

We always remember that unforgettable Vesper Evening a group of us  shared with you both in Maryland.

You played the Piano, and Neville with his beautiful Bass voice lead our group with some of the old favourites.

One of Neville’s  favourite song that evening was “IN HEAVENLY LOVE ABIDING”

Green pastures are before us, which yet we have  not seen. Bright skies will soon be o’re us, where darkest clouds have been. Our hope we cannot measure, our path to life is free. Our Savior has our treasure, and He will walk with us.

Our prayers of comfort are with you and your family

Dear Bev please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear husband Neville. May Our Heavenly Father continue to give you and your family peace and comfort in this very difficult time.
I have mvery fond memories of Neville when we attended Andrews University in the late 1960’s.
He was a very committed Christian youth who supported all the activities that involved the Caribbean students on the campus in those times.
We look forward to seeing him again in the earth made new. Sweet be his rest until Jesus Christ comes again to take his faithful home.
