Nick you were a great friend and we did many things together, building the "A" frame, building shops for DART RACING and most of all the racing itself. My favorite was the TRANS AM race at Pocono driving your Corvette. We think of you often when the team members get together. We lost Danny Balkunow this year so wherever you guys are, Ron Hurley, Dominic Gentilcore, Danny Balkunow and you Nick, I know you are looking down on the rest of us. May God bless you and your family.

By happenstance I found out today the sad news of Mr. Corbo's passing nearly a year ago. Mr. Corbo was, without a doubt, one of my favorite teachers. He was my sixth grade teacher at Ridge Ave Middle School from Sept '85-Jan '86 when my mom & I moved from NJ to Atlanta (where I currently reside). One of the things I hated most about moving was that I wouldn't be able to finish my sixth grade year in his class. Mr. Corbo made learning fun; I looked forward to going to school every day because of him. I remember finding out he would be my teacher at Ridge Ave and being so excited! My friends who attended Ridge Ave before me all said that Mr. Corbo was the best (and he was). As the one year anniversary of his passing approaches I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to his wife, children and extended family and friends.

Mr. Corbo: you were my teacher for only a few months but I'll never forget your kindness, your enthusiasm and the positive impact you made in my life. You truly cared for all of your students and we'll never forget you.

I'm just now hearing of the passing of my favorite school teacher of all time Mr. Corbo. He was a down to earth man who knew how to relate to his students and knew how to make you laugh. I remember the field trips and the rockets and I remember him riding to school on his (Norton) motorcyle. Mr Corbo, was highly respected by me and I know many other people I had the privledge of having him for my 5th and 6th grades at Ridge Avenue Middle School from 1975 - 1976 . I will surely miss you Mr Corbo... RIS and I hope to see you again.

RIP Nick, Best Man at my wedding to your sister Susan. You are missed! Remembering lots of good times! You weren't perfect (who is!) and lived life your way, with a good, caring heart. You were always a straight-shooter when it came to opinions, but despite differences you didn't waiver in your love of family and loyalty to friends. Nick-isms I will remember: "HO!" "Shoot'em in the kneecaps" "Veirds" (after wine) and all the "a-saurus" words. A truly good man has come and gone. God bless the many memories.

Nick Corbo was one of the sharpest minds and funniest men I ever met. He was always thinking 3 steps ahead and often 2 or 3 steps to the left or right at the same time. He was the energizer bunny on steroids. At least heaven will now have good blinds. Rest in peace, Nick. May your friends and loved ones rest in THAT peace which passes all understanding as we say goodbye on this side.

Mr.Corbo was my 6th grade teacher at NMS & he was truly one my favorites! Never a dull moment in his class & besides him teaching 1 of my 3 favorite subjects, he never wanted anyone to fail & he never made you feel like there was ever anything you couldn't do! He always had everyone in class involved in the lesson & believe me (being the quiet, shy girl in class) it was always fun learning! HE WILL FOREVER BE MISSED & LOVED! REST EASY MR.CORBO! #EVERYONESFAVORITEGUY

Sad to hear this news as Nick was a teacher and friend at Neptune Middle School with me. It was back in 2005 when he arranged a Christmas vacation to Cancun for me and my two kids, I was devastated from a divorce and really needed to get away for the holiday. I was anxious for the trip and Nick took care of all of the arrangements. Then Hurricane Wilma hit Cancun 6 weeks before our trip and demolished the entire coast of Cancun. Our hotel was demolished. I was so upset but Nick worked overtime and went out of his way to find us a place to go. A good man all around with his humor, kindness, and work ethics, He gave my kids and me, a Christmas that was memorable. I'll always remember his wonderful spirit and smile.

I was sad to hear this news, and my condolences to the Corbo family. He was a wonderful teacher, and I sense from the memories already shared a wonderful husband and father.

I had the pleasure of spending my 6th grade in his classroom. I have fond memories of the rockets, and Roller Ball, and the healthy competition that compelled us all to work very hard that year.

It mattered little to me that my rocket performed terribly; it took off and rose a few feet, veered left and after nearly taking a classmates head off crashed on a nearby property. Thank you most of all for teaching me how fun learning could be.

I had the honor of working with Nick for many years. He was a gentle man, with a passion for his profession. I was also fortunate enough to have him teach my children. He has been missed at our school. He will now be greatly missed in life. Until we meet on the other side, my friend! Rest, now, in peace. ❤️

Mr. Corbo was my 6th grade teacher in the Neptune, NJ public school system. (1978). I learned more about life in his class than with any other teacher by far. Outside the box method of teaching with teaching us how to build model rockets and launching them in the playground with the whole school watching. Learning about everything under the hood of his Corvette with live hands-on instruction. Designing the layout of homes with architectural drawing. Lots of stuff a public school teacher could never do today. I hope his family knows he had a lot of students over the years who loved him very much. RIP Mr. Corbo.

Mr. Corbo where do I start with the memories??? You were the 1st teacher (in a long list) to challenge me to work hard, hit the books, prepare me for college, and life. I was just telling someone the other day about my six grade teacher who rolled the ball to us during kickball and would heckle us at the same time! Tackle Football, bottle rockets, and Shane in the box! The dredded 50 page report and the only teacher ever to craft a history/science lesson out of viewing of Rocky IV in the waning last days of sixth grade! There are too many memories...and thank you for all of them...Rest In Peace!

HI remember Mr. Corbo as someone who challenged us... and encouraged us. He let us enjoy the growing up process and taught us to embrace the awkwardness of that age while still letting us be kids or feel grown up... a very precarious balance.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Nick was my mentor when I first started at Neptune Middle School. I remember teaching with rockets, bringing the kids out when the corvette pulled in. Always honest, funny and intelligent. May it give you a chance to smile to know how loved Nick was.
