I was remembering Nick this morning when I got the reminder that today's his birthday from the Forever Missed website Lynda set up in his memory. He gave his heart to those he encountered. A giving, sharing, loving personality we all loved so much. In the end, he gave it all away, and satiated, knowing his purpose was complete, he stepped into the clouds and climbed the steps up into the heavenly airliner awaiting to take him to the fields of immortality. With a band playing and a huge crowd chanting his name, he strode upon the astral stage and acknowledged their welcome. With his open arms and a gracious smile, he approached the microphone, and said.
We're given an allotment of love to give away in our lifetimes. Don't hold onto the love you need to offer the world. The more we express it, the more flows through us to replace that which we put out there. Touch someone's heart today. Be a friend to everyone you meet. When our day comes, then, we shall all stand here, lovers of others, sharing the joy of living and the friendships that go beyond a solid, planetary existence.
The silent crowd stood in rapturous awe, their eyes glistening with tears, knowing he was speaking a profound truth. Nick seeing the effect he had on the assembled multitudes, in his usual fun seeking manner, signaled to the band to begin playing, and he spoke one last time, COME ON NOW, LET'S DANCE, AND HAVE SOME FUN!
Happy Birthday brother Nick!
Your brother from a different mother and father,
Jay
