The Calabar Old Boys’ Association and interest groups extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Nicholas “Soapman” Neufville. Nicholas served his alma mater and athletic community with passionate intensity. He remained true to his passion of producing great athletes to represent school and country. However, above this, he will long be remembered as one who brought laughter and joy to everyone.
Like a true lion, he zealously answered the call of Calabar, to become a teacher, a coach and a mentor to Calabar students. Under his over 10-year tutelage he led many students to represent school and country with most moving on to taking up scholarships in the events. He practiced and taught our students good values: dedication, discipline, respect for others, respect for self, focus, humility, teamwork, keep trying, ‘never-say-die’. He encouraged all to strive for the utmost for the highest.
“It is not the presence of someone that brings meaning to life…but the way someone touches your heart, gives life a beautiful meaning”.
Though Nicholas is no longer with us physically, his roar lives on through the lives he has impacted.
May you find eternal rest along the banks of the ancient river, in the pride of lions.
Here Sir, Here Sir, so you answered near or far. Here sir, Here sir, at the call of Calabar!
