*TRIBUTE TO MY VERY DEAR CAPTAIN , Mr. Ola Ibironke (Dudu Mayana)*

Dear Dudu as I fondly called you. Your death is still a mystery to me but how can I ask God to explain why you hurriedly left us at the very peak of your excellent and noiseless achievements?!

Your love and care for me and what I do was beyond ordinary . You stood with me at the peak of my membership crisis. You were my greatest behind the door supporter. You ensured I got a voice when I was going to be silenced! You advised me at critical moments , you saw me as no just a member of IGC but a sister to you, you adopted me as a younger friend, you called me with so much excitement any time you see me from afar, the sound of your voice still rings out to me when you called me OMOLARAENI !! I have loads to say about your amiable personality to all and sundry that words can’t finished capturing.

You were an angel in human skin. Your love for Ibadan Golf Club was incomparable with any other! Dudu, you were selfless, tenacious, audacious, focused , sacrificial, result-driven and many more attributes you displayed with no disrespect to anyone who had good intentions!

God alone knows what we do not know Dudu! But my consolation is that you have gone to rest till eternity from this world of many troubles.

Your death is our loss . REST ON DUDU MAYANA !

Night Before
   Olayinka & Abimbola Davis

Night before the darkness engulfed his eyes
And tears hearkened to our sour minds
Brushed it was the night in drools
Night to morning in defiance to joy
When tears in hot chase of blurred noses
Unto whom do we ask the questions, Dudu?
Not of Him whom your time and ours He hideth!
Why hath Thou stealth with Thy fingers, his prime
Eternity, in scores, hath our minds thought they findeth,
Until that black crying Sunday!
The caws and subsong of that Crow
Hoarse, grating coos, caws, rattles, and horrid clicks!
O No! That night, his soul
You made quietly part of those constellations, Oh Lord!
Dudu, thy spirit now in smiles and soul in songs,
When but ours in anger, sadness, yeah, madness,
When in departure, of hugs, smiles, little waves
.... you denied!
But, goodnight, our brother...

It was nearly exactly 1 week that you suddenly left us and it has come to dawn on me that truly you have gone to rest in the bossom of our Lord. I have been hoping against all hopes like that you will return back, but now I believe that it is at the feet of Christ that we will meet again. I wonder what will happen to all good works and projects you are leaving behind and those that you are yet to complete. They will all speak in your good memories. My earnest prayer is that the good Lord will comfort your family and His grace will sufficient for them and us all. Amen. Adieu, my pleasant Captain. Till we meet again.

A summary of Ola’s life by Otunba Ambimbola Davis

PROFILE OF OLADIRAN ISHOLA IBIRONKE (Dudu Heritage)

Oladiran Ishola Ibironke was a popular music promoter and a private businessman until his demise on 12th September, 2021. He was from Ilesha, Osun State.

He had his early life in Nigeria and his university education in London and the United States of America. But all his life, he had been an entrepreneur. He was the CEO of Dudu Heritage, a music promotions company which is the home of African culture, entertainments and arts. Dudu Heritage, as he was fondly called, was a golfer, a contractor, a family man, a socialite, and a music lover. Through his music promotions company, he raised considerable number of music artistes to stardom. Entertainment to him was like a passion and that was what gave him the prominence he enjoyed. Apart from entertainment, he was also involved in publishing, events management, ICT networking, and contracting.

He was the publisher of the magazine called Society Facts. Until his death, he was the Captain of Ibadan Golf Club. Prior to his becoming the Captain of the club, he had garnered experience from various captains under whom he had served. He also served as the second vice-captain before becoming the captain. During the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, he was one of the individuals who lent their voices to making sure the general public was well sensitised about the deadly virus. It was during his tenure as the Captain of Ibadan Golf Club that members were vaccinated.

Dudu Heritage was married to Olusola Oyefeso of the popular Oyefeso family from Ijebu Ode and popular Nollywood actress, Abimbola Oshin; they were blessed with wonderful children. Though quite popular and sociable, Ola was reserved and detested unnecessary noise. He was a suave, cool and amiable man. He died at the age of 59. He left memorable legacy in the Nigerian entertainment industry and the Ibadan Golf Club, where he served as the Captain till death came calling.

May his soul rest in perfect peace!

DUDU LIVES ON

It is still unbelievable that you are gone. I haven't been able to appropriately string words together to pen a befitting Tribute to a bridge builder, calm but firm personality with a LISTENING EAR.
He was never perfect like every human but always striving to achieve perfection little wonder he could multi-task( He was a Captain , Course Officer, House& Bar Officer , Competition Secretary, PRO and an Organizer per excellence all rolled into one. For him success of every endeavour is the end that justifies the means perhaps he could be misunderstood if u are either complacent or lethargic in keying into his drive for success.
Despite his principled stand he was receptive to superior argument and quality advice.
I learnt a lot under him as the Hon Secretary under his leadership as the Captain of Ibadan Golf Club.
His Patience and Endurance even in the heat of extreme provocation is a peculiar Character trait that is absolutely rare in most persons l have related with.
Your leadership attribute of stick and carrot approach is another pointer of your matured conflict resolution techniques which you brought to bear while serving as Captain of Ibadan Golf Club.
Your support of my Captainship at Tiger Golf Club cannot be quantified.
Indeed the new vista of development taking place in Tiger Golf Club has the fingerprints of your benevolent leadership of Ibadan Golf Club.
You attended all Tournaments at Tiger Golf Club and also played our weekly kitties severally.
It was a personal loss to myself and my wife while the whole Tiger Golf Club lost a Friend and a brother in you.
I am however encouraged by the fact that you not only left several legacies behind but u also bequeathed an enduring human legacy in SEGUN IBIRONKE whose exploits as Golfer will soon be nationally celebrated.
On behalf of the General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee and the esteemed members of Tiger Golf Club , we once again commiserate with the immediate family of our beloved Brother, members of our dear Sister Club IBADAN GOLF CLUB, the entire Golfing Community and his friends and we'll wishers.
Indeed Dudu lives On!!!!!!

Uncle D as we used to call you. The news of your death came to me as a rude shock, but I take solace in the fact that you may have gone, but your legacies will live forever. You bridge a gap in my life when it was needed most. May you rest eternally with the Lord. I pray that the family and love ones you left behind will have the strength to bear the loss. Adieu Uncle 'D'.
