MY TIME KEEPER

April 24, 2019

POPSY MI THE TIME KEEPER

One notable quality about my dad was his promptness in keeping appointments. If he tells you he'll be with you by 10am, he sure will be at the venue by 9.35am. How he did that still baffles me. What he goes to do at Alausa on a daily basis was a mystery until I unravelled that he only goes there in other to keep in touch with friends. Oh,  he was a loyal friend, jovial one, never had worries, he lived his life at a time believing tomorrow will be sorted out, never had reasons to visit the hospital or use pills until death came knocking. I know your friends will miss you greatly because you were the life of major gatherings. Never dull, ever bubbling, everyone's confidant, area daddy to many on the street, a man with the heart of a child......  Sun re ooooo

AYINKUSE

April 24, 2019

AYINKUSE TEMI NIKAN

My dad had me when no one thought he could father a child, the news of my birth spread round like wildfire with various questions on many's mind, in all, we pulled through.
I loved him effortlessly, Yinka was never wrong in my sight, he was a father that tolerated all my excesses. I remember when I had 202 score in my first JAMB exam, my mum being a disciplinarian told me I haven't done enough (you shouldn't expect anything less from a teacher) but my Yinkuse said 'ah baby girl, you really tried'(smiles).
He might not have the money to give you, but moral support, you'll definitely get. My dad would apologize if he's wrong and continue as if nothing ever happened.
Though I'm glad he walked me down the aisle, met his grandson, found a another son in my husband, I would have loved he waited yet more to meet other grandchildren from me and my brother.
Popoola omo mayinka, death is wicked and cruel but I have no choice than to submit to God's will. I am consoled that you didn't bury any of your children instead we are the ones pouring the dust on you.
YOU LEFT JUST TOO EARLY! TOO EARLY!!
YOUR BUS ARRIVED TOO EARLY....
I WISHED YOU WAITED A LITTLE LONGER

IF WISHES

IF WISHES

If wishes were horses even the very poor will ride gallantly
If wishes brings back life, Olayinka mi will be here with us
If wishes were granted immediately, I would have brought him back from the mortuary
If wishes are real at all times, Olugbohun MI would have lived another 40years
If wishes could do anything at all, it would have kept my father.
My only wish on the 6th of March 2019, was to see my father stand up from where he was laid, follow me home, punch my son like he promised, witness more of my birthdays as he would normally do.........
Hmmmmmmmmm, wishes are just mere wishes at times.
Sleep on the first man in my life.
