Dr Femi Osideko (a passionate lover of God and people) with Dr Titi Adesanmi (nee kasim).

A Rare Gem!!

June 24, 2023
There are not too many people that you encounter in life that leave an indelible mark on you, but I can honestly say that Femi Osideko was certainly one of them. He was one of a trio of leaders that I met as a first year student in Medilag (the College of Medicine campus of the University of Lagos). The other 2 were Yemi Amusan, Femi's deputy and Kunle Badmus.

The year that I met Femi Osideko (1990), I was a young believer, having just become born again on February 8 of the same year.

One of the first things that struck me about the fellowship that he pastored was the love that emanated from him and his team, which also permeated the congregation. These folks didn't just preach love. They lived it the best they could by the power of the Holy Spirit!!

The other thing that I found interesting was that as a 20 year old, I had been a Christian less than a year, but Femi, Yemi and Kunle, if memory serves me well, had been Christians for longer, having been saved in high school, and here they were teaching us the Word. I had different relationships with all 3 men, but at the heart of it, Femi Osideko was my pastor.

I'm completely overwhelmed at how God took a young man, poured His Spirit on him, elevated him to the position of pastor over his peers, gave him the wisdom to shepherd that flock with all the attendant responsibilities, and somehow Femi managed to get through school, and graduate as a doctor!! That can only be done by the grace, power and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Femi was a kind hearted person, who took the time to sit with you and minister to your needs, whether it was just to say hello, provide counsel or encouragement or celebrate you. I don't remember him ever chastising anyone (which he probably did in private) or speaking publicly about his struggles, unless it was necessary as a teachable moment. He always seemed to put the needs of others ahead of his.

Femi was also a great teacher of the Word. As a young believer, I was drawn to his teaching style, and his ability to make complex, abstract biblical subjects simple and easy to digest. The fellowship that he pastored, Loveward Fellowship, was my training ground on the Bible and the life of a Christian. It was there that I was introduced to the Holy Spirit, got baptized in Him, learned to pray, became a cell group leader, learned to evangelize...I can go on and on. Don't get me started with the activities on the "field." Some of my most cherished and intimate sessions praying and worshipping occurred on that field, because Femi and his team encouraged us to pray.

As I write this, I realize that not everyone will have the patience to read through, so I must stop, because I'm ad libbing. There honestly isn't enough room here to share the extent of the impact of Femi Osideko in my life, but he was truly a remarkable human being.

I will miss him dearly, but as I tear up while writing this, I'm comforted at the fact that he fulfilled his purpose on earth. He leaves behind a strong legacy of love, service and the Word of God as the absolute authority on this side of eternity.

Good night Pastor Femi, till we meet again!

REST ON

It is so shocking to hear that you are no more. The last time we saw was in National Hospital, you enquire about the well-being everyone in my family, you were ready to assist me with my purpose of visiting the hospital. You are filled with so much love and care. We have indeed lost a great brother and friend. My consolation is that you are in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. REST ON

I still can't believe this happen, but it is real, God, no one can question your will. He was a very very good Man, so committed to the growth of others. Just earlier this year during the Campmeeting he pray for me and gave me a word that he sees me moving on with my studies. When he ask what qualification I have, I told him and he now said God want me to move on to the next one. Just about a week ago I was given an admission to do a masters degree and I was hoping and praying that he was going to be in church for me share this with him. It is unfortunate and a bitter reality that My pst. Dr Femi has gone so soon to be with our maker. It unimaginable.

Early this year, about the second month I had a minor accident while I was about crossing the road and sprang my ankle, I was so overwhelmed and felt alone, while still in that feeling I told God, I need a hug or some words of encouragement. The next morning guess who called me to pray for me and gave me the most encouraging words and motivation I needed ? Pst femi, while the call was going on I was teary and emotional, I had to send him a message because I sensed God had sent him to call me.I really appreciated his obedience. I truly celebrate the love you had to share to everyone. You were always present to support everyone.

Thank you for the times you ensured I get home safe after church, you always dropped me off and also got dinner for me. For every time I needed to visit the hospital, you always made it happened. Thank you . I will miss you greatly, the fact that I cannot pick up my phone and call you. God is sovereign, I’m glad I encountered a man like you. Rest well .

The Impact of Dr Femi Osideko

June 20, 2023
When my wife was hospitalised, after loosing a pregnancy at Ibadan the capital of Oyo state in Nigeria. We actually came for my younger brother's wedding and were supposed to leave on Monday back to Lagos. That fateful morning, the eventuality occured and we rushed to hospital.
I eventually I left for Lagos to attend to some office issues and also return back.
While I was away, my wife contacted Pastor Dr Femi Osideko. By divine arrangement, he was then at Ibadan at that time. He assisted, not just professionally, he also supported financially.

What an amazing man of God he had in Dr. Osideko. Thank you sir. We will sure, have you in our minds always .
Good night!!!

Uncle Femi was a good man who was there for people. He changed people lives and our hearts. He will be forever missed. I wish I knew him longer so I could witness his love for God.

A painful exit

June 17, 2023
. Only a month ago while  preparing for the family doctor's day in your usual calm way you said I agree with Dr Oganya and we should consider her suggestion- we did and I was happy but today that voice can no longer be heard. You have gone ahead of us to where we all will certainly go someday but uncertain when and need to prepare for. I'll miss you for all you were to us and so with tearful eyes and a painful heart I say rest on egbon till we meet to part no more.
June 17, 2023
May the Good Lord Grant you Eternal rest. May He console your family. Amen.
This is really sad . The few encounters I had with you still resounds in my head as you told me about your 50th birthday during our part 2 exam in NHA.

My forever brother from another mother.

Words for me cannot describe how much I will miss your advice. encouragement and assistance in my trying periods.
Your love for your colleagues and willingness to carry out struggles on your shoulder is astonishing.
I will never forget your advice to me before I left Asokoro District hospital for my residency program with the National eye center Kaduna and how we kept in touch all through the program.
More so that even after my program you kept in touch, each time you have the opportunity to be in Asokoro hospital you always come around opthalmology unit for catch up gists and encouragement.
My friend, saying I will miss you is an understatement. But who are mere mortals to ask the all knowing and Almighty father.
Adieu my friend, rest in peace in the Bossom of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord Almighty comfort your family.
Dr Nasiru Danjuma Simon.
