TRIBUTE TO A LOVING MOTHER
My Mother was a loving and compassionate woman. While it is routine for people to call their Mother the best, but in mine case, it is the reality.
You were good and supportive, and had played a great role in my life.
Mommy was gentle, calm and generous, willing to let go of whatever she had or ready to give assistance to anyone in need.. saying, "Olorun
lo nbukun ni,Won ki nje lehin Moyo."
You endured the challenge of child bearing, you stood by and cherished your remaining two out six children, and to you we were the best in the world.
Your words and faith in me gave springs to my steps, I saw myself in great light, and not just an ordinary girl, but someone whom you. mama, have strengthen to do anything that her heart desires.
Mom, you taught me to be diligent and resourceful, content, and trustworthy. I could make good and informed choices based on your gentle guidance. The time spent with us in the US was memorable and despite our little differences, the ten years you had with us was a remarkable one.
Our differences were always about food; for example, if I asked Mama what she would be having for lunch and dinner, her response would be "Wahala re ti poju"... "the one I ate is not yet digest. I didn't go out and yet you are asking me to eat another one?"
Mama was very close to my husband. Always glad to see him home from work everyday. They would spend hours together chatting and telling stories upon stories. When Mama was readying for a chat with my husband, she would beckon to him, calling him (Aba lola) to come; the two were so close that many people from our church thought I was the daughter in law. Mama was a peacemaker, always telling my husband, "Mu suru re" whenever we have quarrel.
We had fun traveling to various places of interest in the US. Mama was amazed to see many of the wild animals she had heard of,at Six Flags (zoo). Also, when we rode by Giraffes as they were touching our vans with their necks.
Thank you for the lessons of life, thank you for all of the times you swept and kept the house clean, thank you for the trust and faith you had in me. You always call me "Eye-lola". I love you eternally. If I had to choose a mother again I would ask God for you. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Creator until we meet to part no more. Mommy, may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Your Daughter,
Mrs. Oluremi Falana
