His Life

Mr. Owen Jemiais Grant began his life on Wednesday, February 14th, 1989 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta GA to Everett Grant and Janie Garvin. 

He gave his life to Christ and was baptized on January 7, 2007 at Midway Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Edward S. Reynolds.

Owen attended Mundy Mill High School in Jonesboro GA. While at Mundy, he was very active. He played on the football team, was a member of the track team and ROTC team until he graduated from Mundy in 2007.

After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served faithfully for over four years. During his service, he completed two tours overseas. Ending a successful tour of duty in the Air Force, he went on to work at the Juvenile Detention Center in Crestview, FL.

OJ as we call him, is survived by his father Everett & Michele Grant, his mother, Janie Garvin, two sisters; Nikki Garvin and Crystal Edwards, two brothers; Marcus Edwards and Anthony Edwards. Grandparents; Mary and Willie Render, and Francine Davis of Atlanta, Jennie Lee Rivers of Kings Mountain, NC Great Grandmother; Eugenia Matthews of Columbus, GA Aunts; his beloved Auntie Kendra (Trish) Grant-Calloway, Sharon Winston, of Atlanta. Teresa Garvin, Melany Garvin, Victoria Chalks and a host of very close cousins, family members and friends.
