When you departed we mourned asking questions. Why? Why? Why?

But now we understand
That it was God’s will
That it was God’s time, the best time
That we instead had to give thanks to God
And that God did not and does not make mistakes

How on earth would we have managed it had it happened at the wrong time?

We are today plagued by all sorts of Crisis
Sociopolitical Crisis with ghost towns and lockdowns in ground zero
Health Crisis with pandemics-Coronovirus or COVID 19 with a universal lockdown, social distancing and confinement

Continue to rest in peace and watch over us as we wangle through the multifaceted challenges of our own times.

Dear Dad, I can not believe it has been one year today, that the Lord called you to his heavenly kingdom. I spoke with Hadjia Beri today and she told us (Flo, Priscie and myself) about the memorial mass in Jakiri today and how wonderful your family, friends, quarter folks, choir, Samba, Bible group, well wishers celebrated your anniversary at church and at your residence. We watched your departure video all evening and those memories are still vivid and reminiscent of what a great man you were. If only you could see (which I know you can) these videos.....
I will never forget what Priscilla's dad, Pa Henry Ngong told her after the burial.. " Your father-in-law's death celebration makes us wish to die" (reflecting obviously on your humility, the enormity of the event and the outpour of compassion and admiration for your person and accomplishments). He further stated that "after witnessing such an event, that if a man like you does not go straight to heaven, then he does not know who else would". This is the best summary of your last impressions on earth. You are a great dad forever! We love you.
We are all healthy and happy. May God bless you and Mom. We shall strive to continue your legacy, God-willing, till we meet again.

It is exactly one year today since our dear father Papa Patrick Kimbo went to be with the Lord. As we remember him, I like to thank each and every one who took the time to pay him tribute, light a candle or write a story about him on this memorial site. I thank you for your continuous prayers for his family and loved ones, and for the repose of his soul. Papa you will always live in our hearts. May your soul continue to rest in perfect peace till we meet again.

I only learnt of this website this March 6 2014. I am working on a book about Jakiri and Nkar and Pa Kimbo is one of my key witnesses. I intrviewed him in July 2012 sitting in front of his home in Jakiri that I know only too well. I owe him a lot and I would have loved that his account and pictures were published for him to see. God decided otherwise. May his soul rest in peace.

I missed the call but realized it was your daughter-in-law Priscilla. "Hmmm I said, this is not good news!" I called her back lo and behold yes, Priscie was in tears. Dr.s Edwin and Flo and the rest of the family in Kumbo and Nkar and elsewhere, I and my family are terribly touched by this loss. I believe with all my heart that God had sent a host of his angels to come deliver Papa's wings that moment he closed his eyes, especially when that first church bell rang soon after he left this world.
