PATRICIA ANN GIOVINAZZO AGE: 62 • HAZLET

Patricia Ann Kochy Giovinazzo, 62, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born Feb. 10, 1953 in Perth Amboy, Patty lived most of her life in Keyport.

A graduate of Keyport High School, then working at Charles of the Ritz, Patty later became a stay at home mother to her twins. After her children were grown, Patty went on to work for Dr. Leonard’s for several years, later retiring from Brooks Brothers. Patty was an active and wellrespected member of Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church in Keyport. Patty was a devoted and loving mother, the glue to our entire family and all our gatherings and traditions. She was well-known for her way of “telling it like it is” but she countered that with her unbelievable sense of humor and was always able to make her friends and family laugh with her quick wit or a good story.

Patty will be greatly missed by all who had the fortune of knowing her. Survived by her children, Jeremy and Trisha Giovinazzo of Hazlet. Also survived by her sister and her husband, Diane and Roger Wuestefeld, Wall and their children Jason and Amanda; and her niece and husband, Heather and John McKenna, Brick and their children, Elizabeth and Godson Jackie. Predeceased by her parents, William and Theresa Kochy; her sister and her husband, Barbara and Bill Insley.

There will be a memorial Mass to honor Patty’s life at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, 123 Broad St., Keyport. Reception to follow in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or the American Heart Association www.heart.org.

We've all seen the movie Uncle Buck a few dozen times. In the movie, Uncle Buck is hounded by his nephew Miles with several questions. This kid threw out rapid fire questions, Uncle Buck couldn't complete an answer before the next question. Well Patty was famous for doing this to Jeremy and myself. Jeremy usually stopped talking, I would just say "no more Uncle Buck". Patty would laugh, and then sneak in one last question.
