It seemed like just yesterday I was spending vacation in your house in Douala and I was playing soccer with Ndahnde. It seems like just yesterday I was in school with Ndahnde and helping him in school but God has a reason for everything and we must move on. Life hits you hard sometimes, but its not about how hard you hit back, it's about how hard you can get hit and continue moving forward.

Sometimes we have to experience the bad, so that we can learn to appreciate the good things that enter your life. Uncle Patrick and Ndahnde i really appreciate you both. You will never be forgotten.

I remember vividly, as if it were yesterday when, as a youngster in my second month in this country, I asked the then U-Lowell admission office if there were any Africans in Lowell. Their answer was "not many." As I was hungry for some directions in a "strange land," I met you and visited you a few times at your place of residence in Lowell. Brother Patrick, I saw how hard you worked to get the best out of life and I appreciate a great deal your willingness to give advice to others, so that, LIKE YOU, they may get the best out of life. I still remember your advice to me when I first met you: In this country, you said, if you know where you are going and keep your mind on your goals, chances are you will get there. This advice was quite helpful to me as it led me to where I wanted to go. You will be missed. May you and your son rest in peace! And May God give strength to those you left abruptly behind!

Ngiah Patrick, you shall always be my hero. You mentored me right from the village in Ntambeng and all the way to the USA. I am a Civil Engineer today because i followed your advise to me 33 years ago when i followed your footsteps to come to the USA. You have been that big brother from another womb who played your part very well. You were never tied of taking my calls and advising me on career, family, immigration and social issues. It has always been comfortable for me to know that you are there and I can turn to you at anytime. I will miss you greatly. I will continue your legacy of living my life for others whether they are related to me or not. May The Lord comfort the wonderful family you have left behind. Nobody can replace you in my life. With love in Christ,

I have good memories of my time in Douala, when I first met you. It is hard to imagine you are no more. This is a vivid reminder of the emptiness of this world.Go in peace, my brother. Your memories will live with me forever. May your soul rest in the peace of our Lord!

My deepest sympathies to the entire Nkimbeng family for this tragic loss of a great brother, friend, school-mate and much more. Soft spoken and respectable human being of a class of his own. When ever we met, it always started with a big "Laugh" about my naughtiness either because when the headmaster of Ntambeng RCM beat me up, I switched immediately (without informing my parents) to RCM Alamatu i.e I was maliciously (crookery starting at that tender age) attending two Primary Schools at the same time simply to avoid Ticha Ambrose's justified disciplinary Mulongo. God bless your soul Ngia Patrick till we meet again at the other end. I beg, keep me some fine place near you.

My beloved brother Chi,
I say good bye with tears of sorrow. Just as our departed beloved mother and father 50 years ago, the all knowing God sent you and NdahNde and called both of you back abruptly. I thank God that you did not suffer for long. God loves you more and I accept His decision. Thank you for calling and talking with me at length at work on April 15th at 9AM 2014 just three days before your sudden death. Our discussion is eternal in my heart and before God and man I promise to carry on our journey as discussed.

Your voice is sustaining me till I meet you someday, somehow, somewhere. Your brief but very accomplished life on earth touched many in various ways.
You have passed on the baton of life to us. I will carry it forth with love and joy. Your children will hear and read about your legacy and be proud and be inspired.

I love you from the bottom of my heart but God loves you more. I pray to God to guide, protect and lead me through the rest of this journey. Till we meet again someday, somehow, somewhere . Adieu big brother!! Farewell!! Filiehfohmbah!!.
Death be not proud. With tears of Love.

I write with tears in my eyes. Since I got the news on Friday, I have not been able to put myself together. Ngia Patrick, Why? Why? You were the perfect brother in-law who replaced my father, calm yet very strict. You called me to talk to me about my health and told me with confidence that I will be alright because the devil is a liar. I believed you. We laughed on the phone and I told you my list of things to do on this earth is very long and you couldn't stop laughing. We laughed together and I didn't know that was it. The laughter was our last connection together, short but sweet.

I called you from work at 5am and the phone kept giving me the French message. Lord I wish I just tried one more time. I gave up Ngia Patrick and missed talking to you for the last time. Now you are no more.....Why? You took Nda Nde with you. The void is huge. Where do we go when we come to Douala? Where do we go when we are leaving for the United States? Oh Death, May your souls rest in perfect peace till we meet someday.
