I only knew Patrick Omabu for the last 15 months of his life, during the illness which brought him to my parish church in Glasgow. I found him to be the most humble gentleman I have ever met. I feel honoured that I was able to take the Eucharist to him almost daily during those last few weeks. He accepted his illness with dignity and great love for Mary Rose and his beloved children.

A heartfelt thanks to you our dearest Dad for all these precious years, of guiding our days and ways down the part of integrity, for Instilling in our very being the courage to persevere in all things and the wisdom to appreciate that there are no such things as difficulties or impossibilities, but to take all that comes our way as challenges and life experiences. P.C Omabu's children.

Daddy today marks your 85th birthday and 12 years after you left us. We love you and we miss you dearly.
The vacuum you left can not be occupied by anyone. You were a rare gem.

We are only consoled by the fact that we believe that you are resting in the bosom of God whom you served in spirit and in truth.

A magnanimous man!

March 17, 2022
At the vigil Mass in honour of Sir Dennis Omile, Sir P. C. Omabu's magnanimity came to light today. A coincidence! Two very quiet disciples of Christ, giving without making a show of it; both now deceased but difficult to forget! The priest remembered how Sir Omile directed him to Sir Omabu when the Tansi College needed to stock her empty library to enable the school meet up to the NECO/WAEC standard for an exam centre. Sir Omabu filled the school library to overflowing and the school got the required accreditation. Good things certainly do not last. Maybe, God brought both of you to Himself before the world soils your noble spirits.
  • Rest on Sir P.C. Omabu. Rest on Sir D. C. Omile.
