Patrick was a big part of my life. His presence as a youngster , his laugh ,his smile will forever be with me.I became very close to Pat when I worked for him at Gaffney Advertising , to Pat I was ,hey kid , I was attending Lakeland C.C. I played basketball there and on several game nights w my mom and dad in attendance , I'd look up in the stands and there's Gaffney ,with a bag full of beers he brought w him for the students. I had the use of van which I used to deliver and pick up for Gaf, and whenever we (me and Pat ) hit something it was in Pats words either minor or major league hits . One trip coming off the freeway all 4 tires came off the van , I continued on to a gas station very near by , called Gaffney ,and his reply was ,sounds like a major leaguer kid , come pick me up when it's fixed , God Blessed me to have this man in my life.Heaven is now a better place . Phil McGrath and Pat Gaffney , together again . Smiling on us .

Sending peace and love to all of Pat's family. A big smile is a lovely legacy to leave behind when Big Pat comes to mind. So many funny idioms that still make me giggle. Brilliant fun man. Big hugs to the Gaffney clan.

Pat was probably the most positive person I have ever met. He was uplifting in ways that only Pat could be.  He lived life to the fullest and faced its ups and downs with dignity. Sincere condolences to his family--your dad was 'one of a kind'. Rest In Peace, Andy & Arlene

I have just heard about Pat and was just thinking of him the other day. My dad was his Uncle Phil "Unc" to Pat. They were great friends and characters. When my dad had stroke years ago Pat visited late at night bearing gifts of a hockey stick and encouragement. I swear I have a memory of watching a Jets-Browns game and Pat was playing catch w/ Joe Namath on the sidelines. His younger cousins looked up to our bigger than life cousin. He didn't read history, he made it! No coincidence the Indians won the championship on Wednesday and now the Cubs! The obituary was perfect for a man who there are not enough words to describe. We loved him and our prayers are with his family and friends.

Years ago after dad died, I stayed with mom for a while with my two young boys. Every morning we found donuts or Danish by the front door. HMMM.. Up early one morning, I spied the elf,
a giant elf with a striking resemblance to Pat although he'd never "fess" up! Pat, I bet there's a big box of donuts waiting for you when you get to heaven. Bless your big heart!
