Yet another year has gone by and yet your passing is still fresh in my mind. I brought photos of Chris, Gram, you and Dad on All Saints Day this past Sunday. As the choir sang, Just as I Am, I thought I could hear your voice along with the choir. I then stopped by your resting place to talk to you for a bit as I remember talking to you almost every day of my life. This brought me comfort as I know we will be joined together again...one day!!

Thank you for all of the special weekends growing up spent trying on costumes, performing family skits, drinking chocolate milkshakes, and late night giggles. i will miss your family games, planned family trips, special singing birthday cards, and hugs. I'm so sad that my daughter will never get to meet you because our family just doesn't feel quite complete to me without your loving presence. Love you grandma:)

When I was 3 or 4 years old I left my cabbage patch doll back in Indiana after a family reunion at turkey run. I was super sad-- she was my favorite doll and we did everything together. Grandma tracked Vanessa (Nessa) down, had her sent to Maryland, and surprised me with her during a weekend visit to grandmas house. In true grandma style, she made it a big deal and super fun for me by videotaping the reunion so that I could treasure that moment forever.
