His Life

November 12, 2023

November 12, 2023
Just a note.  I found out today why I couldn’t reach Lee. He’s up there with you, Bill, John C, Bob and everyone. Died exactly 2 years ago. Paul, you need to give me a clue about your ashes. Where do you want them?  I’m 81 now and although I’m told I don’t look it, I feel it.  You don’t want me to leave them for someone unknown. Give me some kind of clue.
Your brother Chris is still alive and remarried and living in Arizona as I told you.
Ed is remodeling the bathrooms.  He occasionally shares things about you when you both did the great room. Its still great looking, although I redecorated after you left. Thinking about doing it again.
Jodi is still in Nashville with her cats.  She is fixing up her house. She quit teaching and is working at a 9-5 job so she can have a life, time for her cats and herself.
I think I am done having nieces and nephews. So far there is Britney's son Jack 5 and Ryans daughter Nikayla, just turned 8 and Raylan 4. They are all too cute.
Sadly nothing from Jay and family. I think Jack and Mom had a lot to do about that. I love them all and miss them. Wishing won’t make it happen. They prefer to live without family. I sure hope they are happy.
I have a lot of friends here that keep me happy and busy. We all get together almost every month and now every week with football season, its football season here. Today is Sunday and the Jets are playing the Raiders. Jets are ahead. Neither team is much good.  But I think the Jets are a. Bit better.
Mom is 103 and going strong but we had to put her in a wheel chair because she kept falling. She doesn’t know anyone anymore and is much nicer for it, I think its the drugs, too bad she didn’t have them before. Last time I visited with John, she thought we were husband and wife. Hahaha She wanted me to come stay with her but she’s in a special home, I can only visit. But John does FaceTime with me when he visits her and she seemed to know me. Said my name when she saw me, like she knew me.  She seems happy.  Everyone said she would live to 105. I’m thinking that could actually happen. I doubt John and I will. Well, its late.
Please tell dad I love him and I will visit him next Sunday after the games for sure. I do say hi every time I drive by but its not the same and our Sunday morning coffee talks. Love and Hugs, Judi

February 16, 2023, Birthday 7 in Heaven

February 20, 2023
Happy Birthday Sweetheart, we are both 80 today.
I was viewing the tape of your high school reunion we held here and at the club house.  Good memories.

Your brother Chris called last month. We had a long chat. He has remarried living in Arizona and very happy. His daughter lives here in Mission Viejo.  I added a picture of him and his wife to your gallery.  I understand your brother Bill is up there with you now.  He was happy to know you spoke with Bill before you passed away.

Haven’t seen anything from Lee. I tried to call him but no return. I’m thinking he’s probably up there with you. Don’t know when I will be. Mom is still going strong, she’ll be 103 in July. Guess John and I are following in her footsteps.

I’m finally remodeling the house and grounds. Wish you were here to help. In hindsight your original landscaping is in style today for saving water. Although we’ve had a lot of rain and cold weather this year. We’re supposed to be going into that ice age Jay used to talk about.  I think he said 50 years. Would you believe the house you paid $74k for in 1975 is now worth over a million.
Have a wonderful birthday up there golfing with Bill, John Lee and the guys. Give my daddy a big hug. I miss him so much and you too.
Love you, your hugger ❣️

Happy New Year
I have been very quiet this year but have not forgotten 7 years ago today and never will. Wish I could.
Happy New Year to you Dad, John and Grandma. I will always remember you all. Tell Dad to expect his wife very soon.
Love and Hugs,
Jud

February 16, 2022, Birthday 6 in Heaven

February 16, 2022
Happy Birthday Sweetheart, we are both 79 today
3 days ago our LA Rams won the Superbowl! You would have loved it. Beautiful hot Sunday with everyone in the neighborhood screaming.
Have a wonderful birthday up ther golfing with John and the guys. Give my daddy a big hug.
Love you, miss you, your hugger ❣️

February 16, 2021, Birthday 5 in Heaven

February 16, 2021
Happy 78th Birthday in heaven. You are once again my age. This has been a year to challenge all the years you could imagine living. We continue to be prisoners in our homes world wide, all wearing protective face masks like bandits and hoping for an end to the COVID 19 pandemic this year. I did get in 3 trips to Tennessee until the Governor shut down California.  My life has been limited to home and market, SO BORING! But I’m better off than the norm. Lots of jobs lost, businesses gone, families moving in with parents, parents having to be teachers, schools are online or virtual. They finally created a vaccine in Europe for the disease and SOCAL is beginning to look normal again with cars on roads and people going back to work and school. Happier times!
Planet weather is changing cyclicly as predicted with the onset of another ice age.  The Dann family in Texas is experiencing single digit temps with an ice storm. Jodi has snow in Tennessee so deep she can build a snowman and will when she gets home from work today. See all pix.  We here in SOCAL are cozy as usual with temps in the 50’s and 60’s and occasional 70’s. Love that sun!  we are blessed.
Linda Dann and Roy came up from San Diego during NFL playoffs to watch the games with me. I had to watch most of the season alone AGAIN. :o(. It was a crazy year for football with players testing positive and negative, having to postpone games and coaches getting fired and teams trading players... never knew who was going to be playing on what team and when. But they found a way to get through it and Tom Brady and the Gronk traded themselves to Tampa Bay and won the Superbowl again! Fortunately they have 10 fingers on which to wear their rings.
Jodi has a boyfriend, John, staying with her and the cats. Mom is still going strong and enjoying her new home and new friends in Texas. She actually waved to me and said hi on Facetime at Christmas,  she couldn’t really tell it was me. Johnsons are still angry and quiet. Mom did a job on us all.
Got a new US President this year but whether he was elected or not will forever be a topic of discussion. And congress impeached the crazy one, twice, I think. What a political farce this year has been. I think the states should just declare themselves little countries and be done with all those politicians in Washington. They just cost us a lot of money and get nothing done because they’re all fighting. Kinda like that book about the boys living alone on the island trying to govern themselves.
If Lee talks to you, have him call me, 949-351-3370, that is if he’s still alive. Was as of last August.  I need to discuss something with him.
Not much left to share this time. Hello to everyone, dad, grandma, Aunt Loretta and Marianne and Uncle Ray and Ted and Helen and of course John Connoy and the rest of your golf buddies.
“Who being loved is poor” Oscar Wilde
“Life is an adventure in forgiveness” Norman Cousins
Thank you for loving and forgiving me for 36 years.
Hugs ((***)) forever,
J

August 15, 2020 Anniversary #33 - Visiting Dad

August 16, 2020
I hope you enjoyed sharing our anniversary with Dad today.  Mom will not be here to visit anymore. She is living in Texas and just turned 100.  We had planned a huge celebration with family from all 4 sides of the country. But, with the exception of The Danns in Texas, we all had to celebrate via Facebook. But it was special and hopefully we can all be together by Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Unfortunately our world became incarcerated by a pandemic known as COVID19 which has everyone in masks separated by 6 ft. There have been no sporting events, no travel, group activities ... all kinds of restrictions, since March. All countries basically closed down. Economies are suffering world wide. Its insane. See what you missed! I plan to call mom in 2 weeks on their anniversary so she can visit with us via Facebook. Give my love to Dad, Uncle Ray, Aunt Loretta, my Grandma and John Connoy. I guess you two and Nassar are enjoying daily golf.
Miss you,
Your hugger

February 16, 2020, Birthday 4 in heaven

February 17, 2020
Happy 77th  Birthday! Did you ever think you would see the year 2020?  Well its here but you’re not. We are now the same age. Except I’m aging and you’re not. So I wonder, are you a little boy of 4, or an old man in heaven? The family has grown by two. Britney had a little boy, Jack. He’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen. And Ryan  added a little boy also. He named him Raylan.  He could be an advertisement for a Cabbage Patch Doll. Remember those? Mom is going to be 100 in July. She caused quite a rift in the family.  Jay estranged himself and family from ours.  So we had to unhappily put mom in a senior home due to her mental state. This has been a hard and very sad year in many ways. Wish I were there with you. XOXO

Anniversary #32 - Memories

August 24, 2019
Hello Hugger,You and me and Lee and Ursula at La Costa and Carlsbad. Good memories. Wish it was that day again. Hope you are enjoying your spiritual life with your mom and my dad and Sharon and Connoy. You would have been so proud of your grandchildren. Jayce graduated from the Utah Utes and is working on his masters at Marquette Michigan and playing his last year of basketball. He wants to be a chef. He already is a comedian. They let him keep his number 34. Venise and I may do a Thelma and Louise drive to Michigan with his car. Jolie is following in his footsteps, playing basketball at San Clamente High, she outshines everyone! She wants to try for a college scholarship. Jake just completed EMT school as a precursor for Medical school. Jessy is a TSA agent in Portland.  She lives with Randall a college basketball coach and really nice guy. Jodi is still in Nashville with my 4 Grandcats. She quit teaching last year, 24/7 impossibly difficult job today. I visit with them a few times a year.  I keep busy with my teacher friends. We usually go out as a group once a month to celebrate a birthday. This year we all spent a whole weekend at a resort in the mountains where one of our own Nicole was getting married. Weekend slumber party. Lots of fun. You will probably see mom soon. She just celebrated her 99th birthday and wants to make 100 but...  My brothers family is increasing.  Britney had a baby boy back in Feb. His name is Jack and soooooo cute.  Ryan should be having a son Raylon, at the end of this month. Interesting name.  Football preseason started a weeks ago. We have two teams now, the Rams came back from St. Louis and the Chargers moved up to Carson from San Diego. New stadium! And rumor of a third one possibly Orange County called the Wildcats. So here I sit watching without you
Miss you Hugger.

February 16, 2019 Birthday 3 in Heaven

February 16, 2019

Happy Birthday #3 in Heaven

Hope you are enjoying the view from up there. Just in case you aren’t watching, I will fill you in on what you are missing and missed this year.

I’ve been visiting Jodi and my grand cats in Tennessee a lot and she spent Christmas with me here this year.   She quit teaching, kids got too rowdy, it’s a nationwide thing. We walk a lot on wooded trails along the Harpeth river. We visited the beautiful Biltmore Castle in Ashland North Carolina. But I broke my toe so we came home.  May go back this year, it’s really beautiful.

I crocheted Santa Hats for everyone this year and we celebrated Christmas at Jay’s.  Lottsa laughs. Venise finally bought a Tesla. Such a fun car, it played music and danced waving its wings. We watched it perform in the driveway on Christmas Day, really funny, See Pix. But then it died, hit by a driver on drugs this month. Fortunately everyone survived with slight injuries from the umpteen airbags everywhere! See pix.

I watched the Super Bowl with them. Oh, you don’t know. The LA Rams and the San Diego Chargers are back in SOCAL and the Rams played the New England Pats in the 2019 Super Bowl two weeks ago. You would have loved that. They lost but made it really tough for the Pats to win. Brady’s 6th SB win. I believe it was the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history 13-3. Actually kinda boring. Wish you were here to watch, I have to watch all the games by myself. I miss my football buddy.

So #24, your grandson Jayce #34 (a hunk) has evolved into a top basketball player for Utah. Probably what you would have been if you’d stayed in college. He’s made a name for himself. He wears a headband in the games. (Remember your bumble bee striped socks!). It got started when he was hit in the head and had to cover the stitches to play. The sports announcers thought it was cool probably not knowing he was covering an injury. But he likes it now as a sweat band.  It’s his signature. He has them to match his uniforms.  His picture was posted on a Freeway Billboard and one on a campus billboard this month. Last Thursday’s game against U Arizona he scored a DD 17 points and 10 rebounds. And to think he started the season with a broken foot.  He’s playing Arizona State tonight. Watch. See pix.
DW Jake (Mr. Handsome) is studying for his MSAT for medical school and taking care of Jayce, his dog Knox (more than a handful), and their condo in Utah. He has this really cool car that no one can touch. Guys and their cars.  See pix
Lovely Granddaughter Jolie (a 6 Ft. Barbie doll) is a freshman at San Clamente High and a basketball star #20 on their varsity team (the only freshman). She’s really good. I’ve gone to some of her games. We get our nails done together. She’s very creative. For Valentines Day she had three different colors of red on 4 fingers and one white with a heart! See pix from the SC 2019 Girls Basketball year book. Be sure to read her bio favorites like her Favorite Quote “Some people are like slinkies, not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.”  She is definitely Jays daughter.
Beautiful Granddaughter Jessica (Remember “Saweee” girl) is a TSA at an airport in Oregon and living with her mate Randall, a very sweet young man and a basketball coach.  She still loves makeup and is saving up for cosmetology school.
My brothers family is expanding. Nephew Ryan and wife Nicole are having another baby in September.  Niece Britney and husband Sam are expecting a boy in March. They all still live in Austin.
For fun I spend an evening a month with my Sisterhood teachers celebrating someone’s birthday. We have great timestogether. Last week we celebrated a birthday on a wine and snack Trolley ride through the city of Orange. Really interesting lottsa history. Brought back memories of our times there.  Sadness was seeing Walton’s Drug Store. New management  took it over, expanded it and threw away all its old charm. They took away all the old souvenirs of the olden days on all the walls and wallpapered them with fake black and white newspaper articles. No pix. Tried to make it look like a big Ruby’s but grossly missed. The ice cream bar is now a bar bar boring.  We stopped in after the ride for fries and a coke. Very sterile and boring. But the fries and coke were good. See pix.
That’s it for the good stuff babe. Think about you every day.  Thank you for the Valentine visit. I know you’re around.  Love up to heaven.

Wedding Anniversary Dream

August 15, 2018

Thank you for my anniversary dream this morning. I felt you there next to me, and I waited for my hug but then there wasn’t one, sadly there was nothing and I woke up disappointedly to reality! You’re not here anymore

Happy Anniversary Hugger.

I miss you.

February 16, 2018, year 2 missing you

February 16, 2018
Happy 75th, I hope wherever you are is a happy place.  Sending you roses and lottsa  love.

This was a busy year. Jodi and I took a few trips. In March we went to New Orleans, the French Quarter and Baton Rouge. Very Creole and Cajun. Visited the Mardi Gras floats, danced the Texas Two step and ate crawfish and Gumbo and a real plantations. In July Jodi and I went to Great Britain. We visited  London, the tower with the jewels Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, sailed down the Themes past parliament, stayed across the street from William Shakespeare’s grade school and visited his home in the Cottswalds, spent a long very hot day in Oxford ( what a busy insane place) visited the famous baths in Bathe and  walked down the steps in Plymouth where the Pilgrims boarded the  Mayflower a few yrs  ago. So now we’ve seen where the Pilgrims started and where they landed. Visited Stone Hinge again but it was much more touristy and busier than when you and I were there. We couldn’t walk near the stones. It’s all roped off now.  But they’ve put all the stones up. Didn’t get up to Scotland but that’s another trip. Our final evening was spent at a Fish and Chips place-the best meal we had. Mom turned 97 but she’s lost a lot of mental capacity. Shelll probably be seeing you in a year or so. Jayce is still playing for Utah, but has had some injuries.. He injured his right foot again and will be sitting out for awhile. He tries so hard but is a newbie and not Morman or black so he’s great defensively but doesn’t get the ball much. It’s sad because he is so eager and a real TEAM player along with being the tallest guy in the building. Most of the senior group will be gone next year and he will get his place in the sun. Hopefully.  Jolie is grown into a tall teenager who loves to shop! She still plays basketball on the boys team. She passed me up by at least 4 inches in one year. Sending you a pix. Jay just had an operation to repair his Achilles’ tendon. He snapped it trying too push his car alone up an incline! Duh! Jakie is studying for his MSAT for Med School quite a good looking dude. Looks just like golfer Jordon Spieth, remember him? Jake would have been a great golfer if you’d kept teaching him. You said he was a natural. Jess is still a TSA agent at Salt Lake Airport and still dating Randall. She bought a condo up in Cottonwood a famous ski resort. I’ve been up there. It’s very nice and full of snow now. Wish I wasn’t so old, I would love to ski again. They have another dog-a white husky named Knox. He’s now back in CA keeping Kobi company. Kobi does not like him.  Another year gone by. Hi to John, dad, grandma aunt Loretta and everyone. Love you, good night. (((***)))

February 16, 2017 Year 1 Without You

February 16, 2017

Happy 74th Birthday. Sending you Valentine roses from Jolie & Venise. So once again we are the same age until September when I become the older woman AGAIN. Hahaha!

2016 was not a good year for me getting used to a new unexpected life without you. No one to eat and sleep with or cook for or talk to or have morning coffee, Price is Right and Lets Make a Deal with or worse of all watch football with. 2016 was also a bad year for the NFL: lots of injuries and really bad officiating, but possibly you and Dad and Connoy know that?. We got the Rams back, but not the team we remember. They were terrible and coached by Jeff Fisher who was rehired and then fired within two months! The Raiders did great for most of the season until major injuries. But worse of all I missed my football buddy. Had to watch all the games by myself and did really bad in our fantasy. Actually I did watch the Titans play the Broncos at Nisson stadium in Nashville from the very LAST row (just under heaven) with Jodi and a million other freezing fans. Titans won 13-10 but in the end not good enuf for playoffs. Patriots won the Superbowl. What a game!!! Right? Actually spent all of December in Tennessee with Jodi and our 5 grandcats. Brought Casper back home. He didn't get along with the other guys and was quite miserable. Someone to sleep, eat and watch football with!

Your grandson Jayce is doing very well with the Utah Utes basketball team playing every game and actually starting as a freshman. You would have enjoyed going to his games. They were ranked 4th in Pac 12 but have had a couple of really tough 1 pt losses to UCLA and 2 pts to Cal in double overtime and are now down to 6th and probably going to miss the playoffs next month. You know his number 34 and yours are only 10 digits apart. He plays every Thursday and Saturday on Pac 12. They are playing Oregon (#1) tonight. Hope they win. Watch him! If u can.

Jessica is a TSA at Salt Lake City airport, so they bought a condo in Cottonwood, a famous ski resort. I would love to ski up there but not sure my legs could make it up the bunny hill. Hahaha

Visited the Dann's in Texas (the whole family is there now) and enjoyed playing with our Grand niece Nikayla, Ryans daughter. She just turned a year old. We all had a great day on John's party boat on Lake Austin or some lake? Lots of lakes there. You would have liked that. Then John and Carole and I drove to cousin Patty's daughter Leslie's wedding in Houston. Patty walked down the aisle with Leslie's puppy. Got to meet lots my relatives. Some I've never met. Robbie, her grandson manages the Cubs stadium. They won the 2016 World Series, first in many years.

Mom is still going strong at 96 with a few medical and other issues. Venise and I take turns taking her to Drs, lunch and shopping. She finally gave up her car and driving, one less scary thing to worry about. I doubt she will be joining you at any time soon.

Roy passed away 5 mos after you, look for him. Carole's mom Lee passed away, just before her 101 birthday!

Jodi and I are going to New Orleans for Spring Break and England this summer, the parts you and I didn't visit. I hope the Brits are still as friendly. Our new president, would you believe Donald Trump, has not helped our American image with other countries.

Sending you lots of new pix and lots of hugs and love for you and Dad and everyone, Your Hugger (((***)))

February 16, 2016 Missing you so much!

February 16, 2016

To My "Hugger"

Happy Birthday Sweetheart

Today was a beautiful warm sunny day made just for you. Your first birthday in heaven with God and the angels but without me. I hope it was spectacular - like out of this world! I imagine you are enjoying time with your mom. And shooting pool and golfing or even playing basketball with my dad, Uncle Ray, Connoy and Bob. What a group.

Speaking of basketball, Jayce made it to Utah ok. The team is doing very well, ranked 22 in Top 25 above SC and UCLA. They beat #15 ranked Stanford last week. But they barely make it, sure could use him. Two 7 footers! The other guy is Jaqob from Austria. He's only a sophomore but going pro after this season. He's really good. Being so new, Jayce chose to redshirt until he gets used to the college curriculum and learns the plays. So we watch him warm the bench every game. Hes very good at it and looks handsome in red. Guess what his number is? 34 coincidence? Remember your number? Sending you a picture. Wish you could have lived to see him play in the pros. Cause he will!

Jolie brought me beautiful red roses on Valentines Day because thats what you always did every Valentines Day and birthday. Made me cry. A lot. How many husbands do that? You made every special day even more special. Thank you for all those days sweetheart. I wish we could have shared this one.

Every year starting with your birthday, we were the same age for exactly 7 months. Then on my birthday I would suddenly become older than you for 5 months. Now you will never age and I will always be older than you. And older and older. Yikes!

I love you and miss you every day,

Your Old getting Older "Hugger"
