Today my mother would have been 68. As much as I wish I could have another 20+ years with her, the 67 she was here on Earth was filled with adventure and endless love. So here’s to celebrating such a beautiful soul. May she inspire us all to be kinder and softer in this life
“What if we expended the bulk of our talents and time on calling out the beauty and strength we see in each other, and you noticed all the things you’re doing right instead of only where you’re falling down.
What if we listened more than we lectured and we laid down judgement more often than we made assumptions, and what if we remembered that despite all our wisdom and education we only see in part.
We can’t peer inside another human’s experience or heart.
What if we remembered that we don’t grow big making others small and there is plenty of room for all of us, and we offer dignity to every scruffy soul we meet.
And what if I use my voice to lift up and to offer hope or light and I see all my imperfection but that’s not all there is to me. And I make space for who you are and you offer the same to me.”
