I’ve not written in a while and I’m sorry for this. I had a lot going on.
It was Dads 33rd anniversary on 24th March and his 74th Birthday yesterday.

Since I last wrote I can’t remember if we was all in lockdown from Covid-19 or whether we was slowly coming out of it. I have to say that since the beginning of Covid-19 to now, I have been one of those lucky ones who have kept away from it. I have been extremely saddened of how many have passed from Covid-19 and express my deepest sympathy to those who have lost loved ones to this. You will be surprised to know though that there have been more people who have died by Suicide since the start of Covid-19 to date than Covid-19 itself. Most of these are children as young as 8/9, teenagers 16/20 and above.

We need to now be more vigilant and be there for everyone and if we spot the signs that children/teenagers are not coping, we need to take action and help!!!

I’m going to finish by saying I may not always be able to write updates for a while due to having lots going on, but, I cannot express this enough. Be there for each other and look out for signs that something’s wrong.

The signs are:
Severe sadness or moodiness
Hopelessness
Sleep problems
Sudden calmness
Withdrawal
Changes in personality or appearance
Dangerous or self-harmful behaviour
Recent trauma or life crisis
Making preparations
Threatening or talking about Suicide

Please look out for these signs and together we can help put a stop to Suicide and hopefully will be able to help families with unnecessary suffering.

Take care and look out for each other
Lots of love

How Dad must have felt

April 26, 2019

No one knew the torment,

that you were going through;

We only kept on seeing
What we really wanted to.

We saw the outward smile,
but not your inner pain;
We never really dreamt,
That you would never smile again.

Forgive us if we failed to see,
What we could do to aid;
Or if we failed to comprehend,
How much you were afraid.

We pray your mental anguish,
Will now forever cease;
And that your deep anxieties,
Will be replaced by peace.

We know your pain invaded,
Every single thought you had;
It made you cry internally,
And deeply, deeply sad.

But we in turn remember,
The good times, not the bad;
We remember when you smiled at us,
And not when you were sad.

So when we think about your life,
We won’t dwell upon its close;
We’ll remember all the good times,
And forget about life’s blows.

We’ll remember all the happiness,
The joy and not the tears;
The assurance and the confidence,
And not irrational fears.

Our lives have all been better,
Because you have been there;
So now we leave your memory,
In God’s all-loving care

Best Dad

April 22, 2019

Just to start this off, I’m writing to say how I loved my father and we had so many happy memories of him on roller skates with us and the Christmas pantos we put on There was Dad as one of the ugly sisters in Cinderella and the oranges he put down his top to make them into boobies Cannot for the life of me remember  who Cinders was but I remember being the Cat and drinking milk from a bowl  I think Uncle Chris was an Ugly Sister too if I remember correctly...

Please share your memories with us!!! xxx
