I did not know Pete for very long. I was with him in the last days of his life. We cried together, laughted together, and got grumpy to. However, through it all this man ment more to me then just a patient, he was a friend. I hope I gave to him as much he gave to me....... He will be missed more than anyone I've ever known...

When I first met Papou, I was naturally nervous. I was falling in love with his son and I so wanted him to like me. From the first minute, he put me at ease. He had a big laugh, teasing nature and generous spirit. Of course, I liked him instantly! I am so glad that I got the chance to know him and be a daughter to him the last few years.  Now when I look at Michael, I know exactly where he g

I only knew Pete from our Tracy High School days, but he was a good person. Perhaps because of his Greek heritage, he always reminded me of ,"Zorba the Greek." The hearty laughter, the sparkle of merriment in his eyes, and a passion for life. My sincere condolences to his wife, Stepanie, and his family. And I always appreciated his posting photos of class reunions on the internet.l

Pete and I became the best of friends through the miracle of the Internet. We "chatted" almost daily, and I came to respect his sincerity, compassion, intelligence and sense of humor. I never got to meet him face to face, though I hoped to do so. Well, I guess we'll have to wait a while for that. In the meantime, I'll miss him. I have ever since he became too ill to keep in touch.

Cousin Pete - certainly was bigger than life! He took care of all of us during so many years of my childhood. Many happy memories of camping, singing songs, listening to his incredible stories. I loved the summer I spent with his family on a CA road trip! I will never forget the patience, laughter and love that Pete gave me and my family. We'll miss you, Pete. Love you forever!

Pete is one of those who loved life, and was loyal to his friends, even if they were Conservatives like myself! Pete and Steve Bell, my Fraternity Brother, liked to gang-up on me, and I encouraged it as much as I could, as I knew I was going to get an ear-full, and I could hardly wait. Pete loved the Lord, and one day he and i will be in heaven together, re-telling the old stories.

I am sorry for the Ioss of Peter. I followed Pete (& his Maria), into education, where I spent 30 years. More importantly their kindness to me growing up with them as “older sibling” figures was just what I needed. My cousins were both always there for encouragement and guidance. I am sure that all of Pete's students remember him with great fondness and gratitude. Bless you Peter!

I met Pete in the mid 90's at Cal Fed Bank in West Sacramento when we worked tech support. I never anticipated that we would become such good friends. He was one of the first people to encourage me to pursue a career in education. Today, I'm a teacher. Pete was part of my inspiration. I will remember him fondly as a mentor and more importantly, my friend. Rest well Pete.

My condolences for the loss of your beloved Peter. Although I didn't know him personally, I have always felt a kinship with the Gonos family. My grandmother, Mabel Ferguson, was dear friends with Peter's Mother, Sylvia. I was with Grandma many times while she was visiting and Sylvia always made me feel special. I'm sure Peter had that same loving heart and that he will be missed dearly.
