I was blessed to have such a caring and supportive mother in Phyllis.  My sister, Joan, had severe cerebral palsy. Phyllis cared for her with love and grace for fifteen years. She was devoted to John, her husband of 65 years. They loved and cared for each other laughing all the way. Always positive, Mom encouraged me to pursue my life's dreams. Even in the end of her life when her memories were eluding her, she still had a positive spirit and appreciation of life and her caregivers. She often admired the tall trees out her window and joked with the nurses coming in and out of her room.  In her final days, as she prepared to transition into the next life, Phyllis spoke and laughed with the spirits of dear ones departed from this world. Her passing was a peaceful blessing, richly deserved.
