Dad, your transition brought pain to my heart that i cannot describe. my heart is still heavy and my mind is cloudy with thoughts of how transient this life is. your death has forced me to confront some of life's hardest questions.
i never thought the end was near and only those who have lost a dear father can tell the pain of heartache without saying goodbye. now a presence from our family is gone. a voice is still. your memory is our keepsake that will be preserved and cherished for future generations.
though i am consoled by the fact that you left us a good name and lived a life worthy of emulation. perhaps the greatest tribute i can give my father will be when i come to the end of my days and people will say of me "he was just like his father".
