Daddy, looking back today, am sure there are things you would have handled differently. You trusted too much. You were too sure some people will hold the family together in your absence, but now they have disappointed you, such is life. One thing no one can take away from you is the fact that; you were the best dad in the world. I miss you a lot and you will forever live in my heart. Continue to rest in peace my dearest Daddy. I will always love you.

Hello Dad! Today, you would have clocked 98 years! Hence, I'm wishing you a Happy Posthumous birthday even as the angels celebrate you in heaven. You brought light to the family of Adeparusi and by your legacy the doors of Christianity and education were flung open. We will never forget you. You will continue to live in my heart as long as I'm here in this world. I could never have asked for a better father. You're simply the best ! Please continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord till we meet and part no more. Once again, congratulations .

Dad, you would have been 97 today were you still physically here with us. However, your beautiful memory keeps me going, knowing fully well that God has you in His bosom while I have you in my heart. You were a great father and I would chose you over others in another life again and again! Thank you for the beautiful and precious memorable childhood I had; this contributed in no small measure to what my life has turned out to be today. The baton of good legacy you passed to me is currently the same measure with which I deal with my own children too. And this is what makes me a good and responsible father to them! I am a proud father, just like you! And I know if I don't have it, I can't give it. Now that I am giving it to them, I have no doubt that they too shall pass the baton onto their own children too. Thank you so much dad for who I knew you to be while you were here in the flesh. I still miss you and I will forever do untill we meet to part no more. Continue to rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dad! I honestly can not believe it's already 3 years since you departed this world. Just like yesterday, i remembered the last time- the voice called my name and said to me good night, barely a week later the news got to me that you passed on. If I had prayed to God to continue to keep you, I would have been considered selfish because your body was physically tired.

So many things you're remembered for; you introduced the entire Adeparusi family to quality education having being the very first of my grand father's children to go to school. Your foresight was incredible! You eventually won a government scholarship to study in Athens, Greece. And during the time of your study you led the student delegation that received the then Premier of Western region- Sir Samuel Akintola who was on a diplomatic mission to Greece from Nigeria.

You convinced your dad (my grandfather) and introduced western education into the family as at the time when farming was the only show-off amongst families. You made sure you registered your nieces, nephews cousins etc in school and followed up with their academic progress. Even those who were not family members benefitted from your benevolence. You supported many who were underprivileged. Some of these people later became great people in the society. Some few names came to mind: Prince Adeluyi adeliyi (Julie Phamacy) who was once the minister of health of the federal Republic, Chief Dele Falegan who was the director of Research in Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Julius Oso PhD (your nephew) who was the Director General of the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and many others. You touched many lives and I am sure these people (those alive), when they remember you, will forever be grateful to God for sending you their way.

Your friends (all of whom are now late) benefited a lot from your wisdom. I remembered vividly, they always consulted you, even to help resolve their family issues. You were at the centre of their lives. You managed projects for them, you did a lot of transactions on their behalf; you were trusted by all and sundry.

Even the monarch of Ado Ekiti benefited in no small measure from your wealth of experience and great wisdom. As a member of the Ado Ekiti ruling house (Atewogboye Ruling House), you were revered and greatly honoured. You were considered highly intelligent, brave, clever, very brilliant and most importantly very humble. I remembered that you had to step down for late Oba George Adelabu back in 1984 when you were considered as the next in line for the throne after the demise of Oba Anirare Aladesanmi. Oba George Adelabu eventually ascended the throne but unfortunately his reign was short-lived. He was a great Oba.

One other major important milestone vis-a-vis the Adeparusi family was your religious influence; you brought Christianity into a family with a staunch Islamic background thereby influencing your brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces etc, many of whom became Catholic and Anglican members. You were a staunch catholic till the end. You will forever be remembered for these great legacies.

As children, you gave us the very best! We all went to top schools! I remembered, i was a bit weak academically but Dad, you never gave up on me. You provided me with every learning material, you even set up a personal library in order to support me and my siblings. Today, I am a PhD fellow! I owe my academic excellence and success to you, for you paved the way for me. I will forever be grateful to you dad.

Apart from being a great dad, you were a confidant and a trusted friend. And you will forever be in my heart. May your soul continue to Rest In perfect Peace. Amen

I love you Grandpa, you must have taken good care of my dad; you surely showed him so much love. And this is what I enjoy right now. My dad shared lots and lots of wonderful childhood experiences he had growing up with you, and of course the little time I was privileged to spend with you was a good testimony to this. How I wish people don’t die; I would have loved to spend more time with you. Rest in peace my dear Grandpa

-     Oluwajomiloju Deborah Adeparusi (Granddaughter)

Grandpa you were really good and loving. Each time we paid a visit to you in Ado-Ekiti, I always enjoyed my time with you. I will miss you very much Grandpa. I’m sure you’re with God right now. Rest in peace Grandpa

A father like no other
Like feathers that shield from evil
So you protected me, your son
Guiding me through the path of godly wisdom
And based on your vision of the future
You fortified me with quality education
Hence I could survive in a highly competitive world.
Dad! I survived!

I love you so much and surely will miss you till the end.

Leading you to Christ on your 88th birthday was my best gift to you!
And I'm happy I did because this is a guarantee that we shall see again
In the next life.

Good night Dad

A FATHER'S INFLUENCE

January 17, 2021
FAILURE IS WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU; WHAT YOU THINK OF YOURSELF IS ALL THAT MATTERS

I was moved by the testimony of a successful surgeon in which he said something that caught my attention; ' know who you are'. And I think this is key! Hence, I decided to share a little of my story to compliment this great man who refused to accept the tag of failure:

Listen, that grade they tagged on you in school should not shape or define your future, even though that's what it's designed to do; I was tagged the worst boy in the entire elementary school (academically), but my father wouldn't give up on me. He kept the faith and kept pushing me. Even though everybody had given up (all my teachers inclusive), my father saw differently- he saw a future that nobody could see, he never gave in to everybody's assessment of me:

Many times the old man would wake me up early in the morning and would tell me how much he believed in me and in my ability to become excellent in my academics. There were times he would joke about my big head, which he said was an attribute of intelligent people. At some point, I began to believe my father, my lost confidence gradually returned to me, and I pushed through secondary school fairly well.

I gained admission into the university and finished up as one of the best graduating students in the entire faculty. Today, that elementary academic disaster is a PhD fellow! I rejected the tag of failure given to me. I refused to see what others saw as me. I challenged the negative identity, albeit with the help of a good father, who stood by me and believed with me. I am a blessing, not only to myself and my family, but also to my society and my world.

Dare to think differently! Challenge or change that negative perception of yourself today and surround yourself with positive-minded people.

What you believe of yourself is the only motivation needed to get you on or off the track vis-a-vis your life journey.

The impact of the influence of my father in my life is so great. I loved him so much and I will forever keep and cherish his beautiful memory in my heart till we meet again.

❤️ you Dad!
