Tribute to Prof. Ladele of blessed memory.

How hard it is for us to admit the news of your sudden exit. We can't but imagine the vacuum created in your stead.

You were always so true blood extension; both home and abroad. An example for us to follow.

As a department we will miss you and all you do. However we have your epistles in journals and books to comfort us.

Even though you are gone, you live on.

Thank you so much sir for all you did and stood for. Your doggedness and resilience was one in a million. You are given to details, hardworking and highly meticulous. I remembered when you asked me that Kemi are you not remarrying again? I think you have waited enough and should consider remarrying for companionship. Thank you so much for bringing me on board RuSAN and being a model and good example of who an academic should be. You will be sorely missed sir. Rest on till the resurrection morning. Adieu.

Well it took me time to put down these few lines about my Egbon, Counselor and Motivator. Few days before departure you called to wish me happy birthday and prayed with me. We further discussed about NAFDAC and other registrations. And booking an appointment with my wife about your daughter's wedding and seeking few information from me. But, Alas you spoke with my wife and few hours before you departed this world to great beyond. Oyin found it a bit difficult to break the news to me friday morning, only to say we lost Egbon and l asked which Egbon and he said Prof Ladele and l said it cannot be possible, that he spoke with my wife yesterday and book an appointment with her for his wife.
Getting to office today passing by your door brings more reality to me that you're gone. I thank God for making us to come across and know each other. You proof read most of my publications and technical reports. Thank you. You took up Tomiwa and guided him meticulously in all aspects of life. Thank you. You contributed a lot to the development of our products. Thank you. Your frank comments, jokes and lifestyle will we miss. Adieu, Prof Ladele, surely your rest is peaceful till resurrection day. May God console the family, friends and colleagues in Jesus name.

Tribute- Prof A. A. LADELE
As it is often said "Good people don't die, they transit as their good works outlive them". Prof A.A. Ladele was a member and one of the pillars of the Nigerian Rural Sociological Association.(RuSAN)
He served the association in various capacities among which are: as Assistant Editor for over four years and later as the Editor-in-Chief. He subsequently ascended to the apex position of the Association as the President, a sway that he held for over four years.
Prof A.A. Ladele was a good and pragmatic leader. An erudite scholar of great repute; he had passion for the organisation and worked hazardously for the sustainability of the Association.
We shall miss his leadership acumen and prowess. No doubt, a good tree does not linger in the forest! We pray the Lord comfort the family and our Association that he left behind. We will continue to take solace in the truism of the maxim that "When someone becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure"
Rest on till the resurrection day.

You left too soon, my brother. I never knew it would be as soon. But I am comforted that you are already with our king. You have escaped the pollutions, vanities and emptiness of the world. You were valiant. You fought the fight of faith and finished your course. You were a brave soldier. You died at your duty post. All the glory and praise be to God. Please, rest on, till we also together reach the other side.

Bro Demola, you have now joined the cloud of witnesses añd overcomers, watching us to see how we fought on.

Words cannot describe how much I'm already missing you but I will understand things better by and by.... When all the saints of God are gathered home.

Adieu, my brother!!!!

Prof Ladele will be seriously missed. He had the grace to have impacted on many, among whom is yours sincerely. I would never forget how he sharpened my knack for research when I was in his Research methodology class during the M.Sc. programme. He interacted with me beyond teacher-student level, which made me feel free to him to discuss other matters with him.

I strive to emulate his principled lifestyle, which I cherish a lot, even if some people loathe it. I attest that it's a lifestyle that is meaningful and beneficial. I never get bored in his company, whenever I'm privileged to be honoured to have it.

I pray that the Lord, the Almighty, will be merciful to all those he left behind.

Gone too soon Demola!!! Its now clear to me that our discussion 48 hours to your demise was our last. You deliberately directed me to get in touch with your trusted friend, Dr. Oyeranti, thanks him and that we should make sure that Olabisi's wedding is properly organized and not postponed because you will try as much as possible to be present. It was a shock that you left barely 48 hours after. By the grace of God, your last wish will be our command. Rest in perfect peace Demola.

Prof Ademola Adekunte Ladele is gone forever. The news of your death came to me with great shock because you chatted me up on WhatsApp two days to your demise. I never imagined that it will be so soon but that is the way life goes, so mysterious.
You were a great mentor, very strong in spirit, very resourceful and an encourager. An erudite Professor of international repute, who collaborated with many colleagues including me for Tetfund and University of Ibadan Senate Research Grant! Yea! You left your foot-print because you impacted Christian virtues to most academia who knew your passion and zealousness for God’s work. I know that God will not forget your work of discipleship. You encouraged me to move up in my career life. Thank God for there is a great rejoicing in heaven that you made your mark on earth and are back home with acceptable credentials to meet your God.
On behalf of my family, I pray that your soul rests in peace and that God continually takes care of your wife, children and extended families and may God console the Department of Agricultural Extension, Rural Development University of Ibadan and the entire extension professionals.

“Extension Everywhere, extending Nowhere: The Cacophony of Agricultural Extension in Nigeria “. That was your inaugural lecture of 2105/ 2016. It was the first time I saw you spoke with so much intelligence and humility and I remembered the title so well because I enjoyed every bit of it. You were indeed a good and gentle man, I admired you so much from afar because of your humility and compassionate docility. Your wife and your family stood by you till the very end, I prayed frequently for God’s healing upon you even though never I had the privilege of talking to you but I admired you from afar couple with the fact that we shared the same birthday date.
Thank God for the gift of your life to humanity.Continue to intercede for us because we believe you are at peace with God whom you served so well while on earth. Continue to extend your ever smiling face to God our maker.

Dear Prof,
What a loss this is for the academic world. You were always so simple in your approach to complex matters.

At my project defence, you were so kind even when you saw my flaws, you sweetly corrected me instead of hammering me down.

I pray that your good works continue to speak on earth here while you rest at the arms of our saviour, Jesus.

You are loved.

My good, helpful & ever smiling brother, I never knew you are leaving us so soon. Am greatly impressed of your kind of faith in the Lord Jesus. Flashing back to our last discussion on your last visit to the Clinic at UCH, you opened up so many things the Great God that you served faithfully has done for you here on earth, how HE took you far beyond your expectations. You said for that reason, you are not intimidated by death. Egbon you ask me series of questions & I answered them all to your satisfaction. Am more resolute in my spirit that you left peacefully & gloriously to meet with your maker. Your memory shall ever remain in our thought, we shall Miss your loving smile & large heart that accommodates all. One death too many. I found it unbelievable that a big tree of numerous branches in academia has fallen. An iconic personality has left us. An example to copy, not error to avoid as gone so soon. A paragon of virtues that contributed immensely in taking me from obscurity to the fore will not be seen again. What an irreplaceable loss! You stand tall among your pals. Oga, your imprints in academia will surely remain indelible.
May your soul find rest in your maker.
Good night sir.

Dear Prof. Ademola Adekunte LADELE (Daddy Ladele). I love you but God loves you more. I'm counting on the grace and mercy of God to cope with the obvious fact that you are no longer available for me to do all that we used to do together over the past two and half decades: praising and worshipping God together, sharing the word of God together, praying together, talking over our personal matters together, giving and receiving from one another assistance of all kinds, eating together, laughing together, travelling together, walking together, and above all, talking and hoping for a peaceful and glorious end in the Lord together. You have ended peacefully and ended well in the Lord. I'm left in the race, trusting God to provide the grace and mercy to get going in Christ. Comforter, the Holy Spirit is aware of my present travails because of your transition. Nevertheless, my consolation stands over and above all pains. What's this consolation? That you ended the journey of this life on earth a redeemed of the Lord by the saving grace and mercy of God that you lived your life for till your last breath. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Words are not enough to describe how I felt when I got the news of your passage. It came as a rude shock. We would have love to have you around for many more years but it is beyond us as humans.
We however take solace in the fact that you lived your life in the service of God and humanity. Sleep on brother until we meet to part no more.

I don't have the words to describe how i feel. I am not sure how i feel. Tears well up in my eyes as i muster the courage to put my thoughts into words. Daddy i miss you so much... I love you so much... I am trying so hard to be strong because that is what you would expect of me... I know that even though i don't understand why now... I know that God loves you and God loves me... I choose to rest in that love even though it hurts so bad...

So many things i left unsaid... so many things i left undone... You are my Super Dad, my friend and my Priest... My anchor remains on the Solid Rock whom you taught me about... I will continue to abide by the values you instilled in me... We are comforted with the knowledge that you are with the Lord... I will always make you proud... I am proud of you... I am a proud daughter an Excellent Steward, Teacher and Mentor. Daddy you are forever in my heart... I really looked forward to our Father Daughter dance... Lord please help me...

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
Christ alone

Weak made strong
In the Saviour's love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all
