Rachel and I were once very close, but drifted apart many years ago. I was telling a friend a story about her and thought it would be nice to reconnect, so I googled her and found this page. It breaks my heart to hear this news. Rachel was like a fountain of love, kindness and humor. One of my favorite people of all time. My condolences to everyone who knew and cared for her.

Rachel and I were childhood friends. We lost touch for years before we reconnected on Facebook, bonding over rescue dogs and snarky or inspiring memes. Rachel was so clever and so smart. She had a giant heart filled with love and light... and an understanding and empathy for for people who were hurting. I never thought I'd run out of time to see her again.

I met my Rachel in high school. We had some classes together and I always remembered her laugh, her sharp wit and sassy red hair. Years later, after reconnecting on Facebook, we became fast friends. Rachel had the most caring, generous heart. She saw the best in everyone and gave help to any and all. She hated to see cruelty in any form. She was light personified. I was lucky enough to have been married to this beautiful, beanie-wearing Angel for 2 1/2 years. We shared a lifetime of memories in that time and my heart is hers. Always. All ways. She was my light, my love, my Angel. Such a pure soul, taken way too soon. Unforgettable, amazing, beautiful. There are not enough words to describe my wife and the life we had. I love you to the moon and back, sweet Rach. I miss you so.

What a sad loss for us all. :(  Rachel and I grew up together in Niles. I have some really great memories of us as kids. She will be missed by so many! Rest in peace, Rachel.
