Mr. Ray Charles Johnson, the son of the late Jim Henry and Susie Truitt Johnson, was born March 5, 1955 in Harris County, GA. He departed this life on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Bethany House, Auburn, AL.

Ray Charles at an early age accepted Christ as his Lord and savior and united with the Jehovah Baptist Church, Whitesville, GA.

Mr. Johnson was a product of the Harris County Public School System. He took great pride in manicuring his lawn. Ray Charles enjoyed caring for the flowers and shrubbery. He would spend hours grooming and taking care of them.

Ray Charles loved his pet dogs, Jerry and J.J. They were beside him every step he made. He loved them and they loved him.

Ray Charles enjoyed sending time with family and friends. He was indeed a loving person. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Teresa Johnson, Valley, AL; stepdaughter, Courtney Whitten, McMinneville, TN; granddaughter, Emily Muncey, McMinneville, TN; one brother, Lucious Johnson, West Point, GA; one sister, Alma( Alexander) Gates, West Point, GA; three aunts, Hattie Sands, Gladys Houston, West Point, GA and Sarah Johnson, Whitesville, GA; nieces, Felicia(Richard)Dillion, Atworth, GA, Alicia Sidar, Destiny Brown, Valley, AL; nephews, Alex(Monique)Gates, Valley, AL, Corey(Crustal)Warner, Lanett, AL; a host of other relatives and friends; special friend, Jeff McKeehan, Valley, AL
