Rene Depakakibo age 66, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on August 11, 2014. He was born April 23, 1948 to Jose & Rosita Depakakibo, in Manila, Philippines. He attended Trinity College of Quizon City and received a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the Lyceum of the Philippines University.  He had a fufilling career as a Surgical Purchasing Analyst at University Medical Center, where he retired in 2009.

 Rene was a dedicated father, son, brother, friend and grandfather.  He loved his daughters and often referred to them as his princesses and angels.  He fell in love all over again when his grandaughter Madison was born and loved sharing in every moment of her life. 

   Rene's warm heart and smile will be missed by many people around the world.  His vibrant energy and optimistic personailty made it easy to make friends with everyone he encountered. At a very young age he taught himself how to play piano and eventually became a band leader and keyboard player for the Living Sounds Band in the Philippines. He still contiuned to play piano leisurely for people's entertainment. 

 He is survived by his daughter Christine Im and husband Jae Im, and granddaughter Madison Im, of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Stephanie Depakakibo. He also leaves behind his siblings Grace Depakakibo, Andy Depakakibo and his wife Dora Depakakibo, Rex Depakakibo and his wife Esther Depakakibo, and Jose Jr and his wife Perlita Depakakibo; as well as; several nieces and nephews and close family friends.
