Renn was a man of few worldly possessions, but was richer than most men will ever dream of!
My brother had lifelong friends who continue to be there for Laurie and myself. We are fully aware of how blessed we are, my brother chose for friends these men that not only he could count on, but we can to!
Renn met the love of his life the day his only child , Lauren Ivie Dixon was born!

My Brother

On August 3, 1970, I became the big sister to Rrnn Avery Long! He was named after both of our grandfather's. Our maternal grandfather Rufus Nathaniel Ivie Jr. was called Wren growing up, hence the name Renn. Our paternal grandfather's name was William Avery Long. He was given the name of the 2 greatest men our parents ever knew. 

At first I tried to get Momma and Daddy to take him back to the hospital.  But, the more I looked into those beautiful blue eyes, the more I loved him! 

I have always taken the job of big sister seriously, and took every advantage of it I could.
