Rev. Simon Muam Asang's biography.

  • The Rev. Simon Muam Asang is a retired man of God, with the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon. Simon Muam Asang was born in the year 1924 in Bu village in the then Wum District in Bamenda Province, to the family of Pa Asang-esuek and of Ma Meteh-nbohndum He was the lone boy in a family of 04 girls. He was the fourth child of the family. He grew up a village boy with lots of mischiefs because he was known to be very brilliant. He was a very smart and active young man and this made him to forget village life and pursue education.
He attended primary education successfully in both vernacular and conversional education in 03 villages Bu, Bafut and at Bali (this wasting
because he loved to study and the father did not like it so he was forced to escape from the village) where he obtained his school leaving certificate. After obtaining his Primary school leaving certificate, he taught as a pupil teacher and preacher in his native home town. He later joined the Public Works Department. Here he was recruited as a checker and time keeper during the construction of CCAST COMPLEX. He got married to his wife Hannah Zien of blessed memory, and their marriage was blessed with 08 children. (Four girls and four boys).
  1. He wrote and passed the entrance into the Presbyterian Theological College. He  attended the Presbyterian Theological College and graduated with Diploma in Theology in 1963. He was ordained into the Ministry of Word and Secrament.  He later errolled into the Theological Seminary lbandan. He holds a HND. in Theology of Stewardship of the Ministry of Word and Sacrament. He had served as a minister and missionary for 28 years, serving in over 08 parishes and over 60 congregations, and after retiring from a very challenging but equally fruitful pastoral career Simon Muam Asang lived a quiet life in his native home town of Bu giving a helping hand to successful Pastors like Rt Rev Fonki Samuel Forba Moderator o PCC, Rev. Ikei Anthony, Rev. Njungai Polycap, Rev. Akaba, Rev. Tamanji, Rev. Ndikum Mary and others who were posted to work in Bu.                                                  He had lived a life of no complaints but when he took ill some ten years back he visited the USA for medical care. He was a man of no complaints but had only his knees to complaint about. He did not have any major illment we could talk about until his dying day. He slept in the Lord on the 09/03/2021 at 3:45 pm in Wum. He leaves behind seven children, 22 grand children and 08 greatgrand children a surviving family and relatives to bit him good bye.
