Hi Dad - Eleven years and still thinking of you on this day. I don’t normally post but seeing others’ posts from previous years and days was so heartwarming it felt like a good thing to do.
I’m in Wales today in a place called Ty Newydd which I think means “New House” but of course it isn’t new at all — dates to the 1500s and 1700s! We’re near the sea and castle ruins and fields. I picked up a round, flat, purple stone from the beach earlier that fits perfectly in the palm. I’m calling it in my mind “the purple moon” which doesn’t mean anything but sounds fitting. In the morning we went to a place called Portmeirion which is a little pretend village made in an Italian coastal style right up against the water. It was the setting of a spy television show in the ‘60s called “The Prisoner”. I haven’t seen the show but sounds like one you would have liked.
I’m seeing so much of the world and yet only a fraction of the whole. Sometimes I see new places and think you would have liked them. Maybe you get to now?
Much love always, Holly
