War Record

March 18, 2017

He did not talk about his Army record apart from the countries he visited.

In fact, he joined the Army before the war started and came out after the war... I only found out about this when i saw his occupation status on my birth certiicate

He was at Dunkirk followed by Egypt the eithth army... then on up throughh Sicily, Italy, and on to Germany.... Wish he was still here, many questions i would love to ask him.

His life was not easy, lost his mother when he was 4 years old, left school at age 14 and was on his own from age 15 on ! his father hving moved to London giving dad the choice to go or stay with his brother Frederick in Birmingham, his brother having recently got married...

Miss you dad.... godbless.
