The world's not the same without you in it, Ron. We're all doing fine; but it will be better once we're all together again.

No better person has circled the bases at Liberty Field than Ron Eppley.
We will feel the void of Ron's commitment and contributions to the success of our softball club. But, most of all, we will miss our good friend.

Chief AKA Mr Eppley was a great mentor to me and always supported anyone who wanted to better their life. I am truly thankful for Mr E as we so affectionately called him and I am even more thankful that part of the success I have achieved was directly attributed to the Chief/AKA Mr E. Ty Ron for some great mentoring, great parties at your home in Tucson and for just being an awesome human being. We may not have been in touch but I never forgot you and the financial guidance you always gave me. Love ya and gone but never forgotten.

In 1978 at the 602 TCS, Ron Eppley was the man to count on when Commander Col Ted Kerr, moved me out of Radar Operations to be the Unit NCOIC of Mobility. We were both MSgts but I never pretended I was Ron's boss. I was in his world of Logistics and I followed his lead. Ron and Karen came to my home in South Carolina at least two times (maybe more) over the years and Anne and I finally visited him and Karen last May (20-23) while Ron was in ICU. Anne and I are thankful we were able to visit these life-long friends and say goodbye to Ron. If there is a heaven, I know Ron is working somewhere there to make things better for everybody around him. A good man and a great friend.

I first met Ron when I arrived at Davis Monthan in June 1989, and took over the Log Plans Office. I remember telling him he would get more cooperation from all the Chiefs' on base, if he worked an old "when he was a Chief" story into the conversation. He came back all excited and said the entire conversation changed with the maintenance Chief that day. It went from can't help, to he will do whatever he can to help. By the end of the day, many Chiefs called him and invited him to participate in the Chiefs group. My going away party three years later was at his and Karen's house. A party to remember. A few years ago a twenty year reunion party took place at the same house. I am so glad I flew out for it. Another amazing party. I will miss him and he is now planning events on a bigger scale. I pray for all his family and especially for you Karen. May God watch over you and your family.

Karen, you and Ron (Chief) hold a unqualifiedly unique place in my life and that of my family that is difficult for me to explain or understand.

I've had a father and a mother, but still the two of you are there.
I have a sister and brothers, and still the two of you are there.
I've had mentors and counselors, and yet the two of you are there, and I've had intimate friends and the two of you are there too.

All of these things you guys have been to me and yet you might not recognize when you had time to be all that to me! It is true that in the entire scheme of things that we really haven't spent much time together... which is exactly the point. I too am unable to account for the time and opportunity that all of this could have occurred in me, but it has. Unexplainable, true, but believe me, you two have impacted all aspects of my life.

I will miss Ron and am so glad for the time that I've spent with him. He seemed to me to be thoughtful and content... accomplished even.

You've been a wonderful and caring life partner for Ron... He has been a happy person and I envy his achievements and his loving ways.

I will hold our memories dear and commit to always do "Chiefy" things!
I love guys!

Ron was the man who could make you feel at home like no other. We had so many great times together it would be impossible to describe or be specific as there were so many
His will to live went far beyond that of anyone else I have ever come in contact with. You can be sure of one thing, if they play softball in heaven, I am sure he is there organizing the teams right now. RIP cuz'

Over the years, Tonia and I have been blessed with years of a caring relationship as part of the Chiefs group and as longtime friends. Fond memories and happy times are what we will always think of when Ron is on our minds.
