“PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD IS THE DEATH OF HIS SAINTS”

Mama, we thank God for knowing you, and a life well spent in the Lord.

Mama Aguda, you are a gift and blessing to TAC GV Detroit Assembly and to everyone in TACUSA North America. You are special in all your ways.

I am still in shock and words fail me as I try to comprehend the news of the passing away of your gentle soul.

Mama ! Does it mean that we will never see you doing as you used to do in the church again ? How am I going to handle the women’s Movement in the Church, and in the district ? You told me you were sick you never said that, that was going to be the end.

Mama the vacuum you created is too wide to fill in our hearts and the church of God. You led the women’s movement to stand strong in place of the whole church, by providing for the house-hold of God on holidays and always you never forget. Your humility and honesty were unimaginable, As you fondly say ‘Yes Sir’ Yes Sir’ for all instructions without any argument.

Mama you are too great! You developed our Sunday School Department and you Managed it until you were called to glory. Your questions and contributions during the Bible Studies and Sunday School will be missed. Haaaa Mama, what about your hymnal selections and coordinations. Who will handle that?. You are very strong in faith and consistent in all your ways.

But who am I, to challenge the Almighty God! Isaiah 57 v 1 says
“Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come.”

We thank God for the opportunity of knowing and sharing treasured memories of you.

May God console everyone of us, the Church, Husband, children and friends you left behind.

May your beautiful soul rest in the Lord’s bosom.

We shall all meet on that golden morning when we shall part no more. We love you mama.

Goodnight ! Goodnight !! Goodnight!!!

Your Death came as a rude shock to many of us. Although I did not have the privilege of spending so much time with you due to distance but the little time we interacted during one of your visits to Nigeria coupled with eulogies after your passing-on shows you were a virtuous woman. We will surely miss you. O digba.

Every time I look at your picture I remember your smile and the laugh, can't remember a frown, and your hands always wide open to hugs. you were too relatable and welcoming.

You will forever be remembered.

May God be with your family here on earth ( husband and children and grandchildren) and grant them the grace to bear the loss.

My dear sister, the news of your passing on hit us like thunderbolt and pierced our souls like sword. Like mortals, we wept, we cried, we mourn but to what avail?

In our travails we were consoled by the facts of your glorious life. You were a wife extraordinary, a mother in a million, a jewel of inestimable value, a pious and virtuous woman and above all, a lover and server of God. Your life was very eventful, reflectful, colorful, impactful and above all, very successful. You came, you saw and you conquered. And God took you home for a deserved rest.

"Blessed is the dead in Christ for they rest in their labor. Sweet is the remembrance of the righteous". Forever you live in our hearts. Rest on my sister till resurrection day. Adiue! Adieu!! Adieu!!!. Good night.

Mummy, each time I put pen to paper words fail me. I keep having memories of our talks, trainings, seminars etc, I still can't believe you are gone.

I remember meeting you in 1999, when I came looking for a job with Eniola who was one year old then, and you hired me immediately.
Since then you have been a mother, a boss, a mentor, a friend and an all round very important person in my life. It was an honor knowing you ma.

I remember the day I came to your house and you asked me to get something from your room. I was surprised to see my picture among the pictures of your children on the wall. It made me realize that the love I have for you is not one-sided.

I own my education business today as a results of leadership skills I got from you.

I always thought I would one day come surprise you in the US, if only I knew the gift in December was a parting one. My consolation is in the fact that the one who loves you most has called you home before evil days.

Rest on Big Aunty.

Big Aunty,

It came as a shock to hear you were gone. But i understand that you have gone to rest with the Lord.

On behalf of every Aunty Mayiedun Private School(AMPS) pupil (new and old) i want to say we appreciate you for the love, the care, for teaching us not only English language (which was the subject you taught then) but, also teaching us life lessons.

You treated everyone of us like your children and not just as a business.
Big Aunty, I am a graduate now, I'm working on my master's, and yet I remember my experiences in primary school with love, many AMPS pupils are married, many are graduates, many are out of the country, but one person we will never forget is you. You are our foundation. And many of us are where we are today because of you. Thank you Ma.

We love you always.
Rest on Big Aunty.

Mummy, your demise is still a shock to me. You are too good to have gone so soon. I remember when my Dad of blessed memory handed me over to you during my introduction, and since then you took me as your daughter. You scold me, advice and pray when the need arises. You have been a great support to me. We miss you Mum, you have left a great vacuum in my heart. The children wish to hear your voice again.
Mama oni' nu re, I asked " why you" but got the consolation that you are in a better place where there's no pain again.

King Solomon asked a question in Proverbs 31:10: “Who can find a virtuous woman?” Deaconess Ruth Abiọdun Aguda was indeed a virtuous woman. She was a woman of noble character — a model of love, humility, compassion, and generosity.

You received me with love into your home in Detroit, Michigan in 1983 when I came to the USA as a student. You made sure I had enough to eat. A year later, you equally received my family from Nigeria with an incredible love. Your smile was infectious. It’s sad to miss you, but God whom you served meticulously loves you more than us. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints” (Psalm 116:15).

You now see our Lord face to face and my wife, Rachel Akinyẹmi — your sister-in-law. Deaconess, you fought the good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith. Now you await the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award you on that day.

Beloved Deaconess Ruth Aguda served God wholeheartedly in her life. She taught us humility, love, and compassion. She was kind and loving, a great wife, mother, and friend.

Our consolation is that we shall meet again at the feet of Jesus Christ where we shall part no more. “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus” (1Thessalonians 4:13-14).

Though I never met you, but we met on Facebook several times through your son Tunde that I've known and admired for almost 20years. I saw your love for family and God. I enjoyed seeing your pictures and all your activities. Though it was a short time here on earth but we are grateful to God for the impact you left. It is not how far, but how well. I'm sure all you prayed for at the last moment God is on them. My condolences to daddy and every member of the family. May your soul rest in peace. May the good lord watch over your family. And don't worry we will look after Moses here in Lagos. Rip

Mummy, I was beyond shocked when I heard about your demise as I never knew you were even sick. I am however completely confident that you walked the journey of faith here on earth and you were a beacon of hope and Christianity to all of us who interacted with you. Your calmness; steadiness; dedication to God; your willingness to assist and even your smile, was enough to assure all of us that it will be alright!

I thank God for your life and the opportunity to know you and learn from you. An amazing woman of the Most High God!

I don’t need to pray for you to enter the Lord’s Kingdom because I know you are already there!!!
I do however pray for your family the fortitude to bear your irreparable and painful loss. Your shoes will be very difficult to fill.

Glory be to God!

To my Dearest Sister.

With heavy heart i write this Tribute

Biodun you left too soon. I had wished you also give me a befitting Burial like you did to our aged parents .God knows we did battled your sickness in Prayers across Nations while you were under Specialists care in the Hospital., but the Almighty God deemed it fit to recall you to himself., most painful to us, he loved you best. We are helpless .Is the almighty very painful.

She was a pillar to the family and was always there for everyone. She ensured the well being and comfort of all. From time to time she would say to me "Egbon mi prices of things will rise" and she would stock piled food stuffs among others.

This act of benevolence she also extended to other families. and those that came her way. She touched and impacted lives to the best of her ability.

She shared with people in good and bad time. Above all she was God fearing. Without exaggerations her good deeds speak for her She leaved a dignified live. we really are proud of her. We should take solace in Thesis 4:13 .

The best we can do for the departed Hero is to celebrate her. Biodun keep resting in the Bosom of your Lord Jesus Christ till we meet to part no more .

Writing your tribute as at this time sister is just unbelievable.

We pray all along for you to overcome the trauma u encountered. A tear came rolling down my eyes when I heard the news of your demise .

Your departure to the world beyond is still like a dream. It is still seems unbelievable that God has taken u to himself.

Hmmmm, what a painful exit, sister mi, u have left a big vacuum, but in Christ we found a solace.

I give thank to God for the life well spent.

U will always be remembered for your kindness, loyalty & caring.

I am honored to say a few words about you Mummy; it was a blessing and privilege to have you as part of our family. You gave me so much attention all the time; you gave me future by putting me on the terrain of IT today which I always tell my wife. This is one out of many.
We thank God that you have left a remarkable bequest here on earth. Know that you will never be forgotten and always loved by all of us in the family. I was so privileged to have you as my very special mother and aunt that meant so very much to me, your caring and humility can never be forgotten, you were such an important part of my family. You loved making everyone around you happy and that is one of the major things I admired from you. If only we could have you longer on Earth, we would have happy, Mummy, (as I use to call you) your time was so short but we cannot question God because God know the best and He also love you more than us. Your memories will live through me forever.

Mummy (as we fondly call you), It is still a great shock to me that you have gone to be with the Lord. Mummy was a lover of God, very humble, generous, and selfless. Telling about my life’s story without having to make mention of the extension of your affection, care, friendliness, prayers, encouragement, support towards me and the family and friends generally is incomplete.
The indelible impact you made in our lives will continue to be our memories of you.
It is hard to say goodbye but, our comfort is that we shall meet at the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ where we shall meet to part no more. Rest on Mummy.

Woooow, I can't believe 'Mama Aguda' as we call her is gone. Though I can't really remember having personal dealings with her but knowing her from 1997 when we moved to Ijanikin has been a wonderful experience, especially when we go for children's rally then at TACN(Vespa Ass then). Growing up, I admired her spoken English and gentle lifestyle. Another thing i admired about her is the fact that she likes and sometimes comment on anything I post on Facebook, I'm always stunned by her level of meekness/ humility. Also got to know her more as my mum calls her most times on phone. I pray the lord grant mama eternal rest and also be with the family she left behind.

Love Story Of Our Togetherness

May 15, 2021
The story of our journey of togetherness begins like this: On a Sunday morning in July 1967, I had decided to worship for the first time at the head of The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, then at 42 Cemetery state, Ebute Metta, Lagos. Thus, on entering the worship hall, I knelt and prayed about 8:45 am at my seat in one of the pews of the male rows. Then, I raised my head, open my eyes to set them on “you” seated in the front row among the female choristers with a large colorful hat. Then, I was momentarily struck with an inner voice that said, “that is your wife!” I struggled for a while with that thought and considering it as lustful thoughts, I quickly rebuked and cast it out in the name of Jesus Christ.
I had been born again for about six years prior to that time and had learnt how to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit but was still struggling with the other sensual attractions. I had also been praying that God would show/reveal the person I would marry to me and me to “her.” After that morning service, a friend invited me to accompany him to one of the Deacons of that church. The house was located at 35 Ondo Street, Ebute-Metta, not too far from 42 Cemetery Street. My friend and I sat down in the living room of the Deacon’s apartment. While waiting, I was amazed to see “you” the same girl I had encountered at the Church service had changed into a common house dress. But I could still shockingly identify you were the same person I saw in the Church. I, therefore, took note of your separate appearances to me and pondered on them over the years.

Thus, when I settled after several years of meeting you. I came to realize that it was truly the voice of the Holy Spirit, speaking to me at the Church that day in answer to my prayers. I still remember that night vigil which I observed in a friend’s house in Jos, solely to ask God to reveal to me whom I will marry since I was then 25 years old, and you were still in JS II.  That night I listed on a paper the names of about 7 ladies that I had met and could propose marriage to any of them. You were on this list but not on the top of it. But before I went too far

in the vigil, the voice of the Holy Spirit told me, “Why do you doubt and worry? I have told you that Abiodun Olude is your wife.” My reaction: I quickly started praising God and ended the vigil in just one hour, instead of a planned 4-hour prayer vigil. Then, in the morning I wrote you. “Dear wife, God has revealed to me that you are my wife. What do you say to this?” You did not reply to the letter until several weeks; you simply said, “Let us continue to pray about it.” Although you said you were not too surprised about my letter because a year earlier I had invited you on a date where I asked if you were born again and also if you had a boyfriend. You said you had been suspecting my moves and love towards you. You eventually replied yes to that letter and added again, let us continue to pray. However, the tone of your correspondences changed from that time on.

Though I had to wait another 6 years for you to complete schooling, but like Jacob waiting for Rachel, it was like a few days, because of my love for you. Gen 29:20 — “And Jacob served seven years for Racheal; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had for her.” We often shared these kinds of memories after we were married, to refresh our love for one another.

Our journey of togetherness has taken us to several places, and I cherished every moment with you. We worshipped and praised God together, until I sadly watched your lips when you could no longer say “Amen” aloud and took your last breath! The Lord gave you as a gift to me for 54 years from the time He first told me ‘that is your wife,’ though we were married for 46 years. At your dying hours, I told God, I loved you, but he told me he loved you more than I do!

You were meek, gentle, very polite, kind, and respectful to me and all people. I miss your voice messages checking on me anywhere go. “Hope you’re all right Daddy or Darling.” “When are you coming home?” “What do I prepare for you?” “What will you eat?Solid or liquid?” Now I can say I don’t know when I’m coming home, but I trust Him to whom we owe our soul and Spirit, that sooner or later I will reunite with you.

Adieu, my darling wife!

Miss Ruth

May 14, 2021
Miss Ruth was one of the most humble servants of the Lord I have ever encountered.  She worked for me at Zion Christina Preschool and Childcare for a few years.  Her heart was so reverent to the Lord and her willingness to serve the children was incomparable.  She was always an uplifting person to talk to, never having a bad word to say about anyone.  Her life brought glory to God in all she did and said.  She is most assuredly enjoying herself worshipping and bowing downbefore the King of Kings now and forever. She will be forever missed.  Lauren Kitchen

Tribute To An Eagle Mother &Grandmother
Let me join others to thank God for a life well spent as a wife, mother, grandmother and importantly as a born again, child of God. Mama lived her life for Christ and I strongly believe that it is a home call for her to rest with the Lord. Adieu to the mother in Istreal. Till we meet to part no more.
