BERRIDGE, Margaret Ruth, 96, formerly of Flushing and Bethesda, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, in Emeral Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center of Barnesville.

She was born November 13, 1913, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of the late Herman and Lizzie Spragg Johnson.

For over 40 years, she and her late husband were owners of the Flushing Insurance Agency. Ruth was a member of the Flushing United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Berridge; a sister and brother-in-law, Sara and William Melchori; and her son-in-law, Donald Thompson.

Surviving are her daughter, Carla Thompson of Bethesda, Ohio; grandchildren Karen (Joe) Arrington of Columbus, Christine Thompson of Holts Summit, Mo., and Heather Evers of Jefferson City, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Milliken of Columbus, Joshua (Brittany) McCloud of Belmont, Loren Phillips of Holts Summit, Mo,; Seth Evers of Jefferson City, Mo., and Ian Arrington of Columbus.

Private graveside services will be held at Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at Flushing United Methodist Church, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing United Methodist Church, or the Bethesda Public Library.

Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St., Bethesda, is handling arrangements.
