Ruth and I met at Scott AFB, IL. I remember her scratch cakes were the best I ever had, then, and since. She was the first person I'd met from the PA Dutch area, and her sayings were so interesting. Like, "it's making down out". To this day, I think that when I see it snowing. It's neat how that stuck with me all these years. Just like my memories of and friendship with Ruth.

It is hard to believe that it will almost been a year since you left WellSpan Surgery and Rehab. We shared adjacent cubicles in the Call Center prior to the opening of WSRH. You were there for me during good times and bad times. You shared your ups and downs of your struggle with cancer and I prayed every day for a miracle cure for you. Unfortunately, this was not to be. You were not just a coworker but a true friend. I admired your love of your job and your desire to share your knowledge with others. I smile at times when I think of the fond memories of WSRH that we shared. Until we meet again!

Ruth provided me with an opportunity that I feel fortunate about. She taught e so much about Quality nursing. I appreciate her mentorship and guidance. I think of her often as I am doing a root cause analysis or an opportunity for improvement. She helped me advance myself in my career. She is truly missed.
