Mrs. Sally Kate Mitchell, the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Ferrell, Sr. and Mamie Potts, was born September 3, 1927 in Troup County, GA. She departed this life on April 24, 2015 at Twin Fountains Nursing Home, LaGrange, GA.

 

Sally Kate received her education in the West Point City Schools. At an early age, she confessed Christ and united with the St. John Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until failing health.

 

Sally was joined into Holy Matrimony to Robert Mitchell, Sr., who preceded her in death.

 

She was a fun and loving person. She enjoyed cooking and talking to the family. Whenever in her company, she would keep you laughing; there was never a dull moment.

 

 

She is preceded in death by a son, George H.”Luke ”Brooks, a daughter, Barbara Davidson, one brother, Willie B. Ferrell, Jr., two sisters, Jewell Cofield, and Leola Ferrell, three grandsons, Stephone Truitt, LaKeitha Brooks and Brandon Trammell.

 

Sally Kate leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Katie(Calvin) Loftan, Detroit, MI; three sons, Jerry(Martha) Brooks, Richard(Jacqueline) Thomas and Eddie Roy(Shannon)Thomas, Jr., all of Lanett, AL; two step-sons, Bruce (Shelia)Mitchell, Tuscaloosa, AL; Robert(Linda)Mitchell, Jr., Valley, AL; 16 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins, Fannie Little, Lanett, AL; May Willis, New York City, NY; cousins and other relatives and friends.
