Big uncle, as I fondly called you. You left when I needed your pieces of advice most. You were there for me to guide my thoughts. You had always guided and directed me on how to go about things the simplest ways. Your demise left everyone of your close allies with gloom. You lived a fulfilled life and left good legacies. Rest on in the bosom of the Almighty God till the resurrection morning. Adieu my big uncle. Dr Comfort

After my Parents, the next significant influence on how I turned out are Mr. P.H. Davis and my FGC Warri teachers. The desire not to disappoint those authority figures played a huge role in the decisions I took and in how I conducted myself. Pa Ibeji was a calm, gentle, fatherly presence and I owe him and my other teachers a debt of gratitude. May his soul find peace in eternity as I wish him joyful activity in his eternal home. Amen. My sincere condolences to Mama Ibeji, all the children especially my dear Ihechukwu (Dexter) as well as other family members and friends. May the Almighty grant them all the fortitude to bear this great loss.

I still can't believe I am writing a tribute because of your passing. Uncle Sam was like a father to me,he was such a great being - so strong, bold, brilliant a rare than life kind of a character- a pillar that supported our whole family such a huge loss to family, friends and entire people.

Words in fact cannot describe this difficult moment ,but if this is the last time I get to say goodbye then I know I will do so with the knowledge that I considered myself blessed to have lived this life as your Niece. You touched so many lives by your selfless and countless acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any favour in return, your dedication to a cause was what set you apart. For every institution you worked for, you laid the path for others to succeed. The benefits of your hardworking is a living testimony for so many young men and women you took
under your wings at a personal and professional level today.

Uncle you were and will always be an inspiration to myself, the entire family and anyone who worked with you. You left a void in the family that will never be filled, while we mourn today we also take comfort in the fact that your mission on earth have been fulfilled.

I Thank God for your life,
Rest well uncle until that beautiful day when we will meet to part no more.
Adieu Ezinna,
From your Niece,
Chinwe.

An Ode to a Truly Great Man

January 20, 2021

A day that will remain unforgettable in our lives.

The day that my dearly beloved father, Mr. Samuel Emeka Ibeji, passed on.

This pain, hit hardest more than any other in my entire life.

He was so many things to us, he was my teacher, a guide, a mentor, a man full of wisdom and knowledge and he did not fail to impart.

He was a rallying point for so many. His words of wisdom were a guiding light.

There were so many lessons that we learnt from him.

The Importance and Power of Integrity. Love. Peace. Truth. Humility. Kindness. Forthrightness. Care. Support. Strength. Spiritual guidance.

He was an embodiment of Total and Unequivocal Wisdom.

In all of these, even as we are solemn, retrospective of his life and times, we are thankful to Almighty God for his life.

We thank Almighty God for allowing us the privilege of having him as our father and tapping from the deep wellspring of such a Great Man and for what he molded us to become in life.

Adieu Ezinna Samuel Emeka Ibeji. Till we meet to part no more.

Mr. Samuel Ibeji was indeed an erudite teacher who imbibed into us enormous discipline and fear of God. He was so principled and took everyone of us as his own children then in FGC Warri. He's legacy will always live on. He will greatly be missed. From Evi 95/96 set FGCW.
